Zoo Lights

Yesterday was a very big day for us.  We got up and ate a late breakfast at Another Broken Egg Cafe and then went to pick out the appliances for our new house.  After that we headed back to the house for naps before setting out for Zoo Lights.  This was our first year to go and really didn't know what to expect.  I can't imagine the work that goes in to getting ready for this each year.  The zoo is covered in Christmas light displays!!  Since it is at night you really don't get to see many of the animals.  We saw giraffes, an elephant, flamingos, and the reptiles.  I would have given anything to have video rolling to catch the look on Braelyn's face when she saw the giraffes and she yelled: "Hi Giraffe!".  She also loved the elephant, claiming that it was her favorite of the night.  She actually kept saying she wanted to ride!  Emerson's favorite thing of the night was the flamingos.  When we asked her why she said "Because they are pink and pink is my favorite color!"  It was a lot of walking for sure but it was worth every step to see the smiles and looks of wonder on their faces!

I think they had just about as much fun climbing on this giraffe as they did seeing the live ones!

We cracked up because the elephant looked like it was dancing to the beat of the Christmas music that was playing!
