Bluebonnets

I can't believe I forgot to post these! I was waiting since we gave them as Mother's Day gifts but then it slipped my mind. I had our precious little blue eyes photographed in the bluebonnets and I thought they turned out so cute. It was a couple of days before she turned 14 months and Jen our photographer had her work cut out for her with a moving target!

Lucky Girl

Monday night was Shawn's baseball banquet and unfortunately Emerson and I didn't get to go because I managed to catch whatever Shawn had had the week before. When he came home he brought me the most beautiful roses and Oreos(I had said a few days before when we saw them on a commercial how good they sounded!)...am I the luckiest girl in the world or what?!

As Promised...

When we went in for Emerson's "recheck" on Tuesday, we unfortunately found out that her ears are still infected but he was able to still do her 15 month check up. She is a big girl! She was 26 pounds 2 ounces (90%), 32 inches (90%), and her head was 18 3/4 inches (90%)! The nurse said that she didn't know the last time she saw a baby her age have straight 90%s! She has met all her developmental milestones and aside from ears he said that she was doing great!

Quality "Me" Time for All!

After a pretty hectic week we all needed a little quality "me" time. Emerson got alone time with each of us and Shawn and I got some needed time to just unwind a bit. Shawn got to play golf this morning with one of the coaches. While he was doing that, Em and I went for a walk and to the park and then she took a 3 hour nap! When Daddy got home we all had grilled cheeses and then I went shopping and for a massage. The "massage" was thanks to a free voucher I got for mother's day from Emerson at her school! It was for this new place called Planet Beach and it is definitely not your typical spa. My massage was a dry hydrotherapy massage which meant I laid on this bed and a row of water jets moved under the surface up and down the length of the bed for my "massage"...kind of interesting but "me" time nonetheless! While I was getting my massage and shopping, Daddy took Emerson to buy a swimming pool for a little fun in the sun! She wasn't too sure about the cold water but still had fun splashing and playing with the palm trees-thank you Daddy! Unfortunately the sad discovery was made that the adorable swim suit that I found for her a couple of months ago doesn't fit! Oh well, looks like more shopping for Mommy! We all met back up for dinner together...mmmm tacos!

15 and Fabulous!

Emerson is 15 months today and we are having a blast watching her learn new things every day. She is starting to "talk" more. We know she is saying words and actually can understand some of them even if nobody else can! She now says "Daddy" and "Mommy" pretty well, has started answering questions with "yes" and "no" and yesterday she actually said "bye" when she waved to her teacher and class as we were leaving! She also says "nana" for her favorite food: bananas! She attempts to repeat other words but so far those are the most recognizable. As for teeth, it is still slow but sure. The 6th one finally broke through this weekend on the top in the front. Sadly, I can't give height and weight updates because our well baby visit that was supposed to be today had to be postponed due to the latest round of antibiotics. As soon as we make it in, I will post that update.

Her artwork from school-don't let the shoe prints mislead you, her feet are still perfectly square!

She still insists on wearing her Crocs with everything but had fun trying on my shoes!

Daddy is hoping to get her started with golf soon so we can retire early! ha ha

She is in constant motion!

Sharing her "O's" with Daddy

Our little Darth Vader is much more tolerant of her breathing treatments this time than she was in January...thank goodness!

Being silly with Daddy's socks on!

I love that smile!

Outside is still her favorite place to be

Helping Daddy water the plants is so much fun!

As I have said before each stage is just more fun than the last and she gets more precious with every passing day!

Friends and Fajitas

Today Em and I got to have lunch at Lupe Tortilla with Alli, Dade, Luke, Audrey, and Wyatt. It was so good to get to spend some time with them before the move to East Texas is complete. Tommy starts his new job on Monday and we wish them the very best there but we are going to miss our lunch dates terribly. This was Em's first time to get to play in the sandbox with the other kids. She loved it but couldn't quite grasp the concept that you can't get sand out of your mouth with a sandy hand!
Hey, Audrey can I slide after you?

Getting good and dirty!

The LaQuinta or Disneyland?

In Emerson's mind I am thinking that one is just as good as the other. Shawn had to scout for baseball in Buda, TX last weekend which is right outside of Austin so we tagged along so that we could spend time together. We left on Friday and drove to Austin to eat at Abuelo's-our favorite! After we ate, Em and I dropped Shawn off at the ballpark and headed out to find a hotel for the night. When we got to the room, Emerson had a blast! She jumped on the bed, looked out the window at the cars passing by on the interest, stocked up on free shampoo and soap, and just ran around stretching her legs after a long car ride. Saturday morning she took a walk with Daddy and got to splash her feet in the hot tub. All of this topped off by rides on the elevator and luggage cart made for a 14 month old's version of Disneyland!
