Operation Baby Sister: Phase 2

I have finally started to get a few decorations up in the nursery.  I definitely have more work to do but here are the latest additions.

I still have to find little things to put in the cubes.  Emerson made the picture that is hanging from the hook for Baby Braelyn.

I am so excited about how this turned out!

I couldn't find a lampshade that I liked so I made this one...hopefully nobody looks at it too close!

Pool Party

On Sunday afternoon Coach Morris and Kristi had the baseball coaches and their families over for a pool party and cookout.  We had so much.  I was shocked that Emerson wanted no part of the pool at first.  Shawn and I weren't getting in but I thought that with Jaxon, Kennedy, and KK getting in she wouldn't care but she looked scared to death and kept saying "Don't like it".  She finally got in with Kristi but wasn't too sure about it.  Shawn eventually put on his suit and got in and in no time she was laughing and even jumping off the sides to him.  She went under a couple of times but wasn't too crazy about that!

I've got my suit on, where's yours Mom?!

How is this crazy thing supposed to go?!

 Got it...let's go swimming!

 Don't like it Ms. Kim!

She might not have liked the water but she was sure cute and color coordinated!

Still looks pretty worried but was at least out with the other kids when Kristi got in.

Hey you guys, do you want to play ball?

Hi Mom, I just went under!

No more worried looks...Daddy saved the day!

 Priceless!

 Scared?  Who's scared?!

 Jaxon and Em playing baseball

 Are they cute or what?

They couldn't even eat their dinner because they were so busy feeding it all to the dogs!

Big Sister

At the coaches' wives shower, Kim Schramm and Jolynda McGrath were so sweet to remember the "Big Sis in Training" and brought Emerson presents too.  She got to open them the next day when she got home from school and was SO excited.  The Schramms got her a baby and I wish I had had a video camera going when she started playing with it.  It is a baby that cries until you give it a bottle.  The look on her face when that baby started crying was hilarious.  She went to rocking and trying to get that bottle in the babies mouth and kept saying: "Mommy, baby crying!".  After a couple of minutes she went back towards her room and a few minutes later came back without the baby.  I told her to go get it so I could get a picture of them together to send to Ms. Kim.  In a little bit I heard: "Can't get it!".  I couldn't imagine what she could have done with her.  I found her in the nursery-she had put the baby in the crib!  I couldn't stop laughing.  Jolynda got her a Care Bear movie about helping others and a book about being a big sister.  We watched the Care Bears the entire night!

Shower Fun!

Today was a very busy, very fun day.  For lunch I met up with the girls from my old team at work for a shower and tonight the coaches' wives threw another shower.  Lunch was so good.  We met at Maggiano's, which I have always wanted to try.  We had SO much food, lots of fun talking and catching up and Braelyn got lots of goodies too.  Tonight, the shower was at our favorite restaurant-7 Leguas!  We decided to make it a Girls' Night Out and it was a blast.  We have never all gotten together without the guys or kids and if you listened closely you might have heard the laughing wherever you were!  Braelyn got so many adorable clothes and toys...she can come now!

The girls from work:  Angel, Robin, Lorrie, Laurie, and Ashley

Ashley is SO creative, the table was so cute!

Ashley has become a good friend and I so appreciate all she did to put the shower together!

Braelyn Update

This morning we had an ultrasound to check in on how big Emerson's baby sister is getting.  As of today, I am 36 weeks and 2 days-how is that possible?!  Emerson was very excited about getting to see Braelyn.  I am guessing it was somewhat of a let down to her that she didn't actually get to see her baby sister in person and the pictures were pretty tough to make out too!  Poor little Braelyn is so cramped in there it was very hard to tell what we were looking at most of the time!  We were able to see her opening her mouth and her little eyelids moving though.  It is looking like she is definitely going to be smaller than Emerson unless the measurements are way off or she grows a lot over the next couple of weeks.  She was estimated to weigh 5 pounds 13 ounces right now which they said is about a week smaller than she actually is.  Her heartrate was 130.  We were also very relieved to get confirmation that it is definitely a girl given that the nursery is painted and her name is already on some things! So far everything is looking good and we are on the countdown to D day and have made the switch to weekly doctor visits!

Not a very clear picture but it is of her face!

Playoffs Come to an End

The Bears had a great run in the playoffs but it came to an end against Magnolia on Saturday.  Emerson had a great time during the playoffs playing with KK, Kennedy, and Jaxon.  She and Jaxon were too cute together-they are only a month apart and have so much fun playing together.  While we would have loved for the Bears to have made it all the way, Emerson and I are so happy to have weekends back with Daddy!

The Schramms brought lots of toys-Em loved Thomas the train

Jaxon and Em practicing their sharing skills!

 Sorry about the loss Daddy!

 Future player?

A priceless way to end the season!

Daddy the Volleyball Player

Yesterday Shawn played in the volleyball fundraiser at the school so Emerson and I went to cheer him on.  It is kind of funny seeing people at events like that because they take it VERY seriously!

Daddy's Baseball Banquet

We got to be Daddy's dates to his baseball banquet.  Typically banquets are at the end of a season but since those Bears are on a roll, it was a little early this year!  Emerson and I are so proud of Shawn and what an amazing role model he is for these guys.

For once, our anti-meat girl was loving the barbeque!

She was so cute sitting up at the table like a big girl.

 Good job Bears!

I am so proud of my Daddy!

Mother's Day

I had a perfect Mother's Day.  Emerson made me a gift at school that was precious.  I told the teachers that it wasn't very fair to give an already emotional, hormonal pregnant woman something like that on her way to work!  Shawn and Em got me a new digital picture frame that I have been wanting too.  After church we just hung out at the house for a relaxing, perfect day.

The poem that came with this said:
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small.
I'm always leaving fingerprints
On furniture and walls.
But everyday I'm growing
And I'll be grown someday.
Then all these tiny handprints
Will surely fade away.
So here's a painted keepsake
That one day you'll recall
Exactly how my handprint was
When I was very small!
