Fun Getaway

Daddy had had to go south of San Antonio for the grand opening of his newest service center and ended the trip with a dove hunting trip with the guys.  Since he was already over that direction, we thought it would be fun to meet up with him in San Antonio when his trip was over.  The girls and I hit the road as soon as the Storybook Parade was over.  We pulled through Timewise to load up on lots of road trip junk food and we were on our way.  When we got to San Antonio, the girls hit the pool at the hotel and then the 3 of us found some good Mexican food while we waited on Daddy to arrive.  The next morning we moved over to a different hotel right on the Riverwalk.  We were able to take the girls to the very spot we got engaged, go on a riverboat tour, see the Alamo, checked out Ripley's Believe it or Not and the Wax Museum.  It was a great weekend!

How is it that even if you have a pool in your back yard, a hotel pool is AWESOME??!!

We, of course, had to still cheer on our Astros, even if we weren't at home!

This was such a cool area that we found by the Mexican restaurant we went to.

First trip to the Riverwalk!

Emerson has been dying to see The Alamo!

Mission accomplished!

It was so funny to me that Emerson was totally freaked out by the stuff at Ripley's Believe It or Not.  Definitely her least favorite part of the trip!

This room was so funny-Em loved being "taller" than me...

and B was so pumped to finally be bigger than Em!

While having fun here with the Minions-Braelyn was freaked out at the wax museum.  She was convinced they were all going to reach out and grab her!

On the riverboat tour-unfortunately it was so hot and the girls were less than impressed by all the historical facts!

They finally got to see our special bench where we got engaged.

So cute how they huddled up to play some games for a little down time in the hotel.

Of course since we were now at a different hotel, we had to try their pool too!

At breakfast on our last morning, B loved her Texas waffle!

Storybook Parade 2018

The Storybook Parade at Snyder is always something that everybody looks forward to.  For a lot of kids, it is their chance to show off their Halloween costumes, which we did last year.  This year we actually went with what it was supposed to be.  They picked books and then we figured out our costumes.  Braelyn was Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus and Emerson from her favorite book series Crime Biters.  They were both SO cute!  Funny thing was, all of the 2nd grade teachers dressed as Ms. Frizzle, each from a different Magic School Bus.  It just so happened that Braelyn's teacher Mrs. Nettles, chose the same Magic School Bus as B, so they were dressed exactly alike!

Cute little Ms. Frizzle

Em was thrilled that dressing like Daisy didn't look much different than what she would wear on any other day!

It is so fun that everybody at Snyder gets involved.  This is the administrators.

Here comes Daisy!

There's litlle Ms. Frizzle!

Em with Kelsey from her class

Mrs. Perry really got into her costume from The Napping House and brought her dog as a prop-the kids obviously loved that!
