Pizza Picnic

After another trip to the land today to check the progress, Emerson and Braelyn were hungry and decided that pizza sounded good.  When we got home the girls were watching The Little Mermaid in our bed when the pizza arrived.  Daddy had a great idea...a picnic in front of the fire!  The girls LOVED it!!!

More Celebrating

We had a really fun weekend...Aunt Sissy and Uncle Russ came down for a visit.  They got into town around lunch on Saturday and thankfully not a minute later.  Emerson had been asking every couple of minutes how many more minutes it would be before they got there!  After they arrived we grabbed a late lunch at Wings N More and then headed down to see the land.  When we got home it was time for some Christmas presents!!!  Sissy and Russ know their neices(and brother and sister-in-law!)...everybody was thrilled with the gifts they brought!  On Sunday, the guys got in a round of golf while the girls did a little shopping.  When they got home, we ate an early dinner and as promised, we did an early round of fireworks!  Emerson has been asking to do fireworks ever since the stands went up near the house.  It was great getting to celebrate Christmas and New Year's all in one weekend with some of our favorite people!

Barbie clothes!!!

Braelyn loves her new shopping cart!

One of the sets of Barbie clothes Emerson gets to design herself, then you can wash it and she can do a different design.  She couldn't wait to try it!

Braelyn loaded her cart with her new groceries a million times and pushed them around the house.

Looks like she is pleased!

The girls' favorite-sparklers!

Daddy and Uncle Russ decided the "poppers" were much more fun if you threw them at each other!

The girls preferred stomping on them!

Lot Clearing

Friday, we drove by the land after a little shopping and a late lunch...they had cleared part of the lot!!!  They had some of the stakes up for the slab and had cleared a pretty good bit.  It is unbelievable how thick the trees are on the lot!  They have a lot more to do!  Yesterday we got an email from our construction manager wanting to know if they had our permission to clear more because they were to the number of bins already covered under our contract.  We told them to keep going and at least get all the underbrush so that we can at least get back there to see which trees we want to keep.  We were able to take Mikala and Russ out with us to see it Saturday afternoon, to see what they finished Friday afternoon.

Christmas Joy

I have always loved Christmas but Christmas with the girls is the absolute best!  It was touch and go as to whether or not I was going to be here in time for them waking up...I spent the entire night in the ER and didn't get home until 6 am.  The ER staff kept laughing because every time they would tell me about a test or something that needed to be done, I would ask how long it would take because I had to be home by 7.  They told me that there were a couple of scenarios that ended in me not going home for Christmas at all so I needed to relax and let them do what they needed to do!  Thankfully it was nothing serious and after a couple of hours of sleep I was up and ready to see the girls come into the living room!  Each of them was super excited about what Santa brought them, and what he brought for the other one too!  After a whirlwind of ripping open packages, it was out front for Emerson to try out her new bike.  We came in for a little nap and then all went down to the park with Em on her new bike and Braelyn on the tricycle.  The weather wasn't fantastic-it was misting and pretty cold but it didn't stop the fun!  After a rather unexpected start, it was a perfect day!

Daddy and I managed to be up before the girls got up!  We couldn't wait to see their faces!

Emerson was pretty excited about the Klip Klop Princess Stable that Santa brought Braelyn too!

Braelyn loves horseys!  Santa knew what would be perfect for this good little girl!

The Ariel bike, just like what I asked Santa for!!

Santa ate all his cookies that the girls carefully picked out for him and drank all his milk.  Emerson pointed out that Santa left some crumbs!

Baby bottles!!

Yum!  Cotton Candy!

Emerson's bike blows bubbles!!!

Time to tear into the other presents!  Braelyn was very meticulous about getting every last scrap of paper and tape off of her packages so Emerson was opening 2 to each of Braelyn's!

Help me Daddy!

Having a little fun after all the packages had been opened.  They look pretty happy to me!

Woohoo! Now the tricycle is MINE!!!

Emerson getting a feel for her new wheels.

The bubbles blow right in her face!

Braelyn had a blast playing in the bed of Daddy's truck while Em sped around the driveway.

More bubble fun from Tanner and Keaton
Race me Daddy!

Forget the tricycle, I am much faster on my feet!

A perfect end to a perfect day...family movie night with Despicable Me 2.

Final Preparations

When we got home from the candlelight service at church, the girls had a couple of last minute preparations for Santa before turning in.  While I was finishing up making the chicken spaghetti, they worked on their letters and after laying down to watch some of Mary Poppins they got the table set up for milk and cookies and strategically placed their letters.  Then it was into bed for The Berenstein Bears Twas the Night Before Christmas!

I love that Braelyn always checks to see what Emerson is doing for pictures and does the same thing!
