FINALLY!

I bought Shawn tickets to Eric Church for Father's Day last year!!  The concert was supposed to be in September but thanks to Harvey it had to be rescheduled.  We finally got to go last night and we had a blast!  We ate dinner at Jasper's and then walked over to the Pavilion.  The weather was perfect and, as always on our date nights, we had so much fun together.  It was well worth the wait!

Field Day 2018

Today was field day for the girls.  The girls were at totally different times but I promised them that I would be there for the same amount of time for each of them!  I love, love, love watching them but really wish field day was what it used to be.  There is no competition any more.  It is just a time for playing games.  The kids have so much fun though and I love seeing their sweet smiles!

Callie and Braelyn did great at the 3-legged race.

These were so hard!  They had to all walk together on these skis.

Special Visitor

The girls were over the moon that Uncle Jeremy had a business meeting here in Houston and got to spend a few days with us before he headed back home.  They always have so much fun when he comes.  They had prepared for days "decorating" for a welcome party!  Braelyn had even put together a gift box for him of some things she had in her room.  So sweet!

Daddy made crawfish and it was SO good!

We had to take Uncle Jeremy to one of our new favorite places for ice cream-Pop Bar.

Big Girl

We have known this day was coming for awhile, but Mom still was NOT ready!!  Emerson had to get an expander and braces today!  I was not ready for how much older she was going to look once they put them on!  This is just our first round of braces.  They will do the expander and just a few braces on top to get everything on the right track and then she will have round 2 of braces probably in middle school.  I had to get some pictures of her before we went to her appointment...little did I know she already looked so grown up even in the before pictures!!!!

So silly!

She wanted me to take a picture so she could see what the expander looks like.

Just 2 braces today, and then they will add 2 more at her next visit after the expander has had time to work.

She definitely deserved a treat of ice cream to help with the soreness!  She had a hard time figuring out how to swallow thanks to the expander though!

3rd Grade Recorder Concert

This year Emerson has been learning to play the recorder.  When we learned that there would be a recorder performance with ALL of the 3rd graders, we were a little worried about what that might be like!  Boy, were we surprised...pleasantly!!  They all did so good!  The music teacher did an amazing job preparing them.  It included not just the recorders, but singing, and other percussion instruments as well.  We were very impressed!

Silly girl!

Each class had a chance to be highlighted up on the stage.

Easter Do Over

Well, after all our hard shopping the day before Easter to find dresses and shoes and then for them to get sick, we had to have a do over!  They both wore their Easter dresses today and looked so cute!

Snyder Derby

Snyder hosts a big fundraiser every year called the Derby.  The girls are always so excited to go and we missed it last year so I agreed to take them for a little while this year.  It is always so crowded but they have tons for the kids to do.  A big favorite though is the auction where they can bid on things like "principal for a day", "lunch with a teacher", etc.  Emerson was dead set on winning a slumber party with Mrs. Maxwell and Braelyn wanted to have a special lunch with Mrs. Tworek.  We bid on both but apparently got beat in the end!

First order of business-tattoos!

Go Em, Go!

Good job Miss B!

The petting zoo was a big hit!

SO cute!

This was hilarious!  They were giggling like crazy the whole time!

They both wanted to win something at the cake walk so bad-no luck!
