Happy Halloween!

The girls new school allows them to wear costumes to school on Halloween and they have a parade and party.  We were a little worried that the parade wasn't going to happen thanks to the torrential rains that hit Houston on Thursday but they decided to just move it inside.  As I sat out front waiting for the parade to start, I wondered how Miss B would do.  As her class came out the double doors I saw her little eyes go from parent to parent and the panic start to creep onto her face.  She finally found me in the crowd and her time in the parade was over!  She was crying hysterically and had no intention of joining back in on the fun!  She was perfectly content hanging out with me to watch Emerson, who enjoyed every second of the parade!  After all the fun at school we came home and watched Monsters University(thanks Gransan!) and I made "mummy dogs" for dinner.

This little one LOVES being Pebbles!  When I picked her up from school, her teacher told me that it took them quite awhile to calm her down when it came time to take off costumes!

Unfortunately this was the only pic of Pebbles at the parade!  This was right about the time panic set in!

Slightly different reaction to the parade!

This is the bag Em decorated at school for all her goodies from the party.

Emerson was definitely pleased with the Halloween dinner!

This is what Braelyn's hair looked like when I picked her up at school!!

Etch-a-Sketch

Emerson has been working hard and saving her money ever since she bought her Ariel doll before.  She started out planning to buy a Cinderella for her sister and at some point decided to add an Etch-a-Sketch for herself.  While Grandma and Papa were here they made a trip to Toys R Us.  As they were going down the aisles, Em picked up an Etch-a-Sketch and put it into Grandma's shopping cart.  A little while later she told Grandma that she needed to go put it back because she was saving her own money to buy it.  I was SO proud!  Last week she added to her savings and had $20.  I told her that after school we would go to Toys R Us for her to buy her Etch-a-Sketch.  On the way there she told me that she was looking out the window for the "rainbow store" because she didn't want me to miss it!  We got out of the car and I handed her her $20 and Braelyn and I just followed her.  As soon as she found her pink Etch-a-Sketch, she didn't miss a beat grabbing the red one right next to it for her sister.  I love what a giving heart she has and how much she loves her baby sister.  She couldn't wait to give the cashier the money and when we got to the car she couldn't wait to give Braelyn her's.  All the way home they both worked on their Etch-a-Sketches and Em helped her sister figure out how to work it.

It amazes me, at 4, she will work for months to get what she wants and I love seeing the excitement on her face when she gets it!

Braelyn is so blessed to have such an awesome big sister!

Pumpkin Carving Time!

After Trunk or Treat, we stopped at HEB to finally pick out a pumpkin.  Emerson drew the face, the 3 girls scooped out the inside, and Daddy did the carving!  It turned out great!

Since we didn't make it to a pumpkin patch this year, I attempted a pic at HEB but couldn't get them both looking and smiling for anything!

Practicing her face drawing

Trunk or Treat

Grace Crossing hosts a Trunk or Treat every year and it is perfect trick or treating particularly for the age of our girls.  There is nothing scary and you know everything is safe.  I would have to say that the girls' costumes this year are my favorite ones we have done so far!  We went all out including coloring their hair!  That decision proved to be more of an undertaking than expected but I still think it was so worth it!! (even if I am still cleaning up red and orange!!)

I can never predict...I didn't think there was any way she would let me do the orange.  She insisted on going first and Em didn't want the red!

How cute are those curls?!

She was so excited to be Pebbles!!

Our beautiful Ariel

I am still trying to get the red out of her pretty blonde hair!  Oh well!

Braelyn trying to stike a pose like her sister cracked me up!

Let's get some candy!  Notice the orange on the car seat...hence the reason I am still paying for the hair color decision!

Playing a game for a treat!

The last stop at Trunk or Treat was for popcorn!  We might have the only 2 kids that quickly gave up their buckets of candy for bags of popcorn!

Fall Field Trip

The day Grandma and Papa left, Emerson's class had a field trip to the park.  It really helped to have something to look forward to when they told Grandma and Papa bye!  Em was so excited.  The funny thing is it almost seems like she gets just as excited about riding the bus as she does about where they are going!

My big girl!!!  A little too big if you ask me!

B loves her big sister so much!

So proud of the "princess" pumpkin she decorated on her field trip!

Grandma and Papa Are Here!!

The girls had been on the countdown for weeks for Grandma and Papa's visit.  They were SO excited when they finally walked out the back door while they were on the swing set!  Thankfully it was beautiful weather while they were here so they got to have fun playing outside, going for walks, and even a picnic.  Of course there was shopping involved too...both girls have whole new wardrobes!  Thanks Grandma and Papa for the clothes and more importantly the memories!

The girls couldn't wait to see what Grandma and Papa brought this visit.

Braelyn, what did you get?

Grandma, Papa's gonna get us!!!

Playing a game of kick ball...Grandma, Papa, and B on a team and Daddy, Em, and me on the other.

Em needed a little refresher from Dad on how the game works!

Picnic in the park

So silly!!!

Papa joining in the fun

Wheeeeee!
