Little Wildcat

I finally took some pictures to submit for the ACU Today magazine. I had to wait on a new shirt to arrive because her first one got stained before we could ever take pictures! Now our biggest problem is going to be deciding which one to send in...there are so many cute ones! Maybe I am a little biased but I think she should be on the cover!

Shift Change

It has been almost three weeks since my surgery and that means it is time for shift change of Mommy's Helpers! GranSan has been here for three weeks spoiling Emerson and taking care of me and we have had so much fun! Emerson became her little shadow very quickly...she could hardly go to the bathroom without her! With the change to beautiful springtime weather we were able to spend a lot of time playing outside which made for a very happy baby! Even though her world kind of got turned upside down thanks to my surgery, Em has done awesome. Thank you GranSan...WE LOVE YOU!!!! Shift 2 starts tonight at about 7 when Em goes to the airport to pick up Grandma. I don't think day care is going to know what to do with her after 8 weeks straight of being spoiled by grandparents!

Curled up with her new bean bag, puppy blanket and pig from her birthday after a hard day of playing!

GranSan brought her the Leap Frog Choo Choo and she could play with it for hours...she especially loves the alphabet song.

Hey Mom! GranSan and I are having lots of fun with all my new bath toys from you and Daddy!

After bathtime it is time to brush our teeth...all 2 of them! She insists on doing it herself!

She loves being outside with Maggie. Maggie loves us being outside!

Man oh man...will I EVER be big enough to help GranSan throw the ball for Maggie?!

I miss holding my sweet Em! Thankfully that big brace got retired when I got my staples out and I have a much smaller one now!

Time for Mom's therapy! She loves all the rides in the wagon while I am getting my walking in. Her new Croc's that GranSan bought are too cute for words!

She is finally getting to where she is not scared of the swings at the park.

This is even more fun than swinging my myself!

Thank you GranSan for making a tough time lots of fun! I love you!

Mommy's Helpers

Well, as most of you know, I had to have back surgery this past Tuesday. I am happy to report that it went great and I am now on the road to recovery. While I feel better than expected, I am going to need a lot of help around the house for the next 6 weeks-thankfully I have many willing helpers!

This was in the recovery room right after surgery. We have a picture almost exactly like this from this time last year-I like the reason for last year's picture a lot more!

Aunt Janet stayed at home with Emerson while Shawn and my mom came to the hospital with me and they had a blast!

She is definitely a climber these days and the boxes from all her new toys made perfect jungle gyms!

Aunt Janet had a new toy for Em every day that she was here-the day of my surgery she got some toddler crayons and coloring pages!

Emerson's first picture was a "Welcome Home Mommy" picture for when I got home from the hospital...I felt better instantly!

It snowed the day of my surgery(I missed it thanks to muscle relaxers and pain pills) so GranSan tried to get Emerson to see it out the window.

I think it is safe to say that Emerson liked GranSan's spaghetti!

Even when Mommy is down, chores still have to get done!

I don't know if you would consider Em a helper when it comes to folding the laundry-she is much better at unfolding! Sorry Daddy that we did not practice that chore more before my surgery!

Time for therapy! My therapy is walking several times a day and my number one cheerleader comes along in her wagon loving every minute of it!

One of the birthday balloons got caught in the ceiling fan so GranSan needed her little helper to get it untangled!
