Halloween

Saturday morning before Halloween, we went to Kingwood Country Club for their trick-or-treat pancake breakfast.  All the kids wore their costumes and after getting pretty stuffed with pancakes, trick-or-treated around the club.  On Halloween, we set out to trick-or-treat in the neighborhood.  Daddy managed to find a part of the neighborhood where just about every house was participating so the girls hit the jackpot!

Bring on the pancakes!

Fuel for a night of trick-or-treating:  Mummy Dogs!

This house went all out with decorating-complete with a graveyard in the front yard.  B was done when she saw the skull on a sword in the flowerbed!

That's quite a haul Miss B!

Pumpkin Investigation

Instead of a Halloween party at Snyder, the kindergarteners do what they call a "Pumpkin Investigation".  I had so much fun helping out with it when Em was in kinder so I was really excited to get to help with B's class this year.

I was so proud of how well B listened to directions.

She also helped the boys with EVERYTHING-she found the right page for them in their workbooks and showed them how to write all of their answers correctly!

Counting the links so we knew how big around our pumpkin was

I think it turned out pretty cute!

I love being Mommy!!!!

Sweets for my Sweeties

I surprised the girls with cookies for a Friday treat after they had done great this week at school.  I am pretty sure they are going to get plenty of sugar over the next few days but these were too cute to pass up!

I got this one for B because she has been jumping out and yelling "Boo!" at all of us all week!

I didn't think about it when I bought it, but this one was pretty perfect for Em with her middle teeth missing!

Welcome Home Daddy!

Daddy has been in Canada for work this week and we have been counting down the minutes till he was going to be home!  He got in tonight in time for us to go to dinner together.  He brought the girls these cool little bridge models for them to make together, only they proved to be way more difficult than the package let on.  It became more of a project for him to do by himself, but the girls LOVED the finished project!  He brought me a beautiful scarf.  We all loved our surprises, but more than anything we were just happy to have him home!

Hat Day

This was Red Ribbon Week at Snyder and each day was a different theme.  Today was hat day and presented a bit of a challenge.  Braelyn has such a tiny little head, I didn't think I would ever find a hat to fit her!!!  Finally, we had success at Old Navy for both girls and they looked so cute!!!

Halloween Ballet

Each week in Braelyn's ballet class, they have a theme.  This month has been all about Halloween with the last week being costume week.  Braelyn was super excited about finally getting to wear her Dorothy costume.  At the end of class, parents got to come in and watch the Halloween dance they have been working on...SO cute!

We're So Proud!

Friday, the first report cards of the year came home and the girls did awesome!  Emerson got all A's and all E's for behavior-as good as it gets!  For Braelyn, she is on a different scale but got all S's which is as good as it gets for kindergarten!  Both girls are having an awesome start to the year and we could not be more proud.  They got to pick their reward and chose to go to Main Event for some fun!

Boosterthon 2016

Snyder's big fundraiser every year is the Boosterthon Fun Run, which I love.  There are no candy bars or cookie dough to sell.  The kids just get pledges for the number of laps they are going to run.  The week leading up to the race, they learn about being a good sport, doing your best, and the importance of fitness.  Both girls did great.  B was not too excited about the running part.  She told me that she was not going to run but ride her bike.  I explained that unfortunately, this was not a trike-a-thon like at First Kids and bikes aren't allowed!  She did great running though and completed 37 laps!  Em really amazed me and ran hard the entire time, finishing 66 laps!!!!!!

Mrs. O'Connor leading her Superstars to the starting line.

So ready for her first Boosterthon!!

And she's off!

She took off so fast the first few laps, her side ended up hurting!  She realized that to make it 35, she couldn't go full speed!

Leia, Sofia, and B ended up holding hands and walking for a few laps.
