So Sweet

When I went to pick up Braelyn yesterday, the class was coming in from outside.  Her teacher, Lemanda, told me, "If I had a class full of Braelyns, my days would be so much better!"  She went on to tell me that Braelyn is just "so sweet".  Earlier that day when Lemanda had helped one of B's friends blow her nose, the little girl started crying because her nose was a little raw.  Braelyn immediately stopped what she was doing and went over to hug her friend.  She also said that when all the other kids were doing the wrong thing(climbing on tables), Braelyn was always her one to do the right thing.  I was so happy to hear this given that B has always been our one to somewhat push the limits!  She is truly a sweetheart though and I am so proud of her for being such a good little girl at school too!

A classic "Braelyn look"!  This was another time she was being so sweet.  We had to wait for over an hour at the ENT's office.  She played with this toy for all of 30 seconds and the rest of the time sat perfectly still and quiet in the chair next to me while 2 other kids her age were having all out meltdowns!  She just pointed at them and looked at me so worried like, "What's wrong with them Mom?"!

Long

This long weekend was long overdue!  After a one day meeting in San Antonio, I decided the Memorial Day weekend could be extended one more day to include Friday to make it a much needed 4 day weekend.  Friday was girls' day!  We started the morning bright and early with breakfast at Denny's.  From there we did a little shopping at Target to prep for the rest of our day.  As soon as we got home, the girls put on their swimsuits to head out for sprinkler fun!  Braelyn got tired pretty soon after so while she took a nap, Emerson and I made necklaces and purses.  After Daddy got home we played outside a little more and then it was time to feast on pizza!
Saturday morning Shawn played golf with some guys from work and I got a TON of work done around the house.  It has been making me absolutely crazy that so many things around the house have been pushed to the back burner with how busy life has been lately.  It felt SO good for the house to be spotless...if only for a matter of hours, or minutes!
Sunday morning we headed to early service.  With it being a holiday weekend there was no Sunday school and our life group decided to do a little something different that evening.  We met down on the Waterway for some music, water fun, and a picnic.
Monday brought a lot of relaxing and playing around the house.  We got out for a little while to tour some model homes to get some good ideas for the upcoming planning process for our house-so many beautiful homes!  I don't know if it helped or if I am more confused about what I like most!

This was before Em decided that all 3 of us needed to sit on the same side of the booth!

Curly Sue hard at work coloring her menu.

She was pleased with our shopping trip at Target!

Water went in my nose!

Emerson loved grabbing the little sprayers and pointing them at me and her sister(who, might I add, wasn't convinced she wanted in the water at all, much less by force!)

You two are crazy!  I am just fine up here on the patio!

Emerson starting on her necklace.

Emerson's necklace-I was amazed to see that her finished product has a matching pattern on either side!  No help from Mom!

Mom's creation-I later got in trouble for cutting the string to make a bracelet too!  Oops!

On to our next project...princess purses!

Modeling the latest addition to her summer collection-the Cinderella purse in blue!

Sailing in their ship...

Flying their plane!  I love the imagination!

Nothing like a lazy Saturday morning with your sister and Jake and the Neverland Pirates!

The girls with Ms. Meagan from our life group.  The jealousy is not just limited to me and Shawn...after Emerson plopped down in Meagan's lap, Braelyn quickly went to work making room for herself!

After a lot of playing a girl can use a snack!

Snocone Picnic

I picked Emerson up early so that we could have a little one on one time.  She went with me to the bank, to wash the car and then we headed for snocones.  When we pulled in to get our snocones, Em said "What about Braelyn?".  I told her that today was our special day together and that Braelyn could have a snocone another day.  She said, "but Mom, Braelyn loves snocones!"  What a sweet big sister!  Since it was so warm outside, I opened up the back of the car so we could have a little "picnic".  I love times like this!  While we were there a guy drove by in a Jeep.  Em said, "Mom, his car has holes in it!"  I explained that it was kind of like Gransan's car when she puts the top down.  She said, "No, his car is just broken."  I cracked up!  The world through the eyes of a 4 year old!  Before we left we had to go back and buy another one for her to take to her baby sister!

Pretty Little Ballerina

This weekend was Emerson's ballet recital.  She was so excited that Gransan got to come down to watch.  She has been talking for weeks about Gransan bringing her flowers and getting a trophy and cookie from her teacher if she does good...the kid doesn't forget anything!  When Gransan got into town on Friday we headed out to do a little shopping.  On Saturday, we did some more shopping and a lot of playing and relaxing.  The recital was actually on Sunday this year because the annual Ironman competition fell on Saturday and you cannot get around anywhere in this area when that is going on.  Emerson looked absolutely adorable for the recital!  She didn't get quite as into the dances as she did last year but still did great.  This year her teacher had two seniors come to perform for the girls.  She was completely mesmerized watching them!  When we got home we spent some time outside playing.  When I got outside, Em came running towards me yelling:   "Momma, this is the best day ever!"

As always, Gransan came bearing gifts!

Braelyn tearing in to her's!

Em got a magnetic ballerina dress-up set

Braelyn got a new purse, complete with phone, lipstick, and a debit card!

Since it was just a week after, we decided to celebrate Mother's Day when Gransan got here.
