Happy Easter!!!

The family fun weekend continued on Easter Sunday.  When the girls got up we quickly got ready for church so they would have time to go through their baskets before we left.  The children's ministry usually does an egg hunt for the kids after class but I liked what they did this year so much better.  They had stations set up in the education building for families to go through together for the kids to learn more about the true meaning of Easter.  They started in a room decorated like the tomb to hear a story about Easter, they made Resurrection eggs at another station so that they could learn to tell others the story of Jesus and then at another station learned about the Lord's Supper.  After church, we had lunch, a nap, and then it was egg huntin' time!!!

Our sweet little Easter princesses

Braelyn Faith-2 months shy of 3 years old!

Emerson Leigh-5 years old

Waiting on instructions for their Resurrection Eggs.

So proud of her finished product!

Em's face is priceless!  After tasting the white grape juice, she said: "Mom, can I have apple juice?".  When I told her that was it, she said:  "Do they have water?!"  Not sure we got the full message about The Lord's Supper!

B said she would sit with the Easter bunny with her sister.  That didn't happen and Em wasn't even too sure about him this year!

I, of course, had to get more pictures when we got back home!

They both looked absolutely precious in their dresses!

Let's find some eggs!!!!

Emerson was so sweet putting some eggs in her sister's basket since she was a little slower finding them!

B got off to a slow start because she had to see what was in each one before putting it in her basket!

Emerson had a basketful in the blink of an eye!

I am not sure what I did to get this look!

Just kidding Mom!

Time to see what they got!

Time to try out her "Pig Popper" from her Easter basket.

Braelyn got a "Puppy Popper"

They shoot little foam balls out of their mouths-up to 20 feet!!!  They were actually a lot of fun!

I asked B to show me her puppy and right as I bent over for the picture, she shot it right at my face!

Emerson thought it was just as funny to shoot Momma!

Long Weekend

Shawn and I were both off on Friday which we were very ready for.  The weather was absolutely beautiful this weekend so we definitely made the most of it.  After a lazy Friday morning, we got up and headed to the new neighborhood so Shawn and I could work out at the gym and then we let the girls play at the park.  We picked up some lunch on the way home and then the girls got a nap.  That night Emerson got a date with Daddy to see Rio 2 and I got to hang out with sweet Braelyn.  Saturday was family day outside.  We spent most of the day in the backyard, including a picnic of burgers!  We finished it off with some egg decorating-better late than never!

Daddy and the girls took a break from fixing their burgers for a quick pic!

They LOVE having picnics!

Egg decorating time!  SO glad this little table was already set up outside-saved me from a big mess in the kitchen!!

Braelyn literally squealed every time I pulled an egg out of the dye!  She had so much fun!

Kids make holidays so much better!!!

This is Braelyn's tray of eggs.  She had a whole bag of sequins but thought one on the top of each egg was sufficient!

School Party Day

Today was the girls' Easter party at school.  They were super excited, not only for the party but at the idea of taking a lunch box to school.  Em already had her's from previous field trips but we went last night for Braelyn to pick one out.  I don't know what has led to the sudden owl obsession but she immediately picked a cute one with an owl!  They had a really fun day despite the unseasonably cold weather!

I couldn't help myself...we stuck with these outfits despite how cold it was!  A white sweater and a denim jacket fixed 'em right up!

Trike-a-Thon

Every year First Kids Academy does a trike-a-thon to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Thank you to Grandma, Papa, Gransan, Jerry, and Janet for sponsoring the girls and thanks to Gransan for coming down to help cheer them on!  All the kids were supposed to bring their favorite riding toy and their helmet for a morning of fun.  Em of course took her Ariel bike and Braelyn decided on the scooter.  She is great at pedaling the tricycle but not so great at steering!  Braelyn's class went first and most of them had much more fun with the bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and balloons!  Em's class came next and they definitely rode the whole time!

On your mark, get set, go!!!

BALLOOOOOOONS!!!!

Gransan and Braelyn

She looked absolutely adorable in and was so proud of her new owl helmet that she picked out at Target the night before!

Braelyn loves her teacher, Ms. Jessica!

Here comes our sweet Emerson!
