Popcorn With Daddy

Grocery shopping this week was a family affair and the girls and Daddy got plenty of goodies while I followed the list.  I am not quite sure how many different types of popcorn and cookies landed in the basket!  I am pretty sure I don't remember seeing any of it on the list!  They were so excited to help Daddy pop popcorn for movie night!

Horses and Elephants?!

We surprised the girls with a trip to the circus today with our friends the Garys.  I don't know who loved it more, the kids or me and Shawn!!  We got there about an hour early and they actually had a lot going on down on the floor that the kids could participate in.  They could take their picture with some of the performers, other performers were teaching dances, and an elephant was playing basketball.  Once the show started, they paraded all the animals and performers into the arena and Emerson said in total amazement:  "Horses AND elephants?!  Can this circus get any better?!"  We had not seen the first act and she was completely in awe!  A little later in the show they had a white horse with wings and a black horse that looked like a unicorn.  Emerson leaned over and said "Mom, those wings are just attached to that girl's legs but that really is a real unicorn!!".  I cracked up!  I could have just spent the entire show just watching the girls' faces light up with each act that came into the ring!

Cooper and Em went out to learn the dance...Cooper danced while Emerson stood and watched!

Braelyn felt much better about things from Daddy's shoulders!

Cotton candy came in these hats which of course meant...

we HAD to have 2 bags of cotton candy!

How can they even think of taking elephants out of the circus?!

There were actually acrobats up in those clear balls!  Talk about not knowing where to look-there was so much going on at once!

The circus was sensory overload!  Braelyn crashed on the way home!

Little Firecrackers

Since we were going to be driving home on the 4th, we had to wear the girls' new holiday outfits early.  They looked so cute!  Perfect for a trip to The Vanilla Moose for ice cream!

My beautiful blue eyed 6 year old!

Not much better than ice cream on a hot day...

Other than getting to enjoy it with your Papa!

Fresh Mountain Air

We drove up into the mountains one of the days we were at Grandma and Papa's.  The last time we did that Emerson was only 5 months old so we really wanted both of the girls to be able to experience it.  It was so much fun watching them just run and play in the great outdoors.  It was priceless when each of them realized that the great outdoors didn't have a potty.  Emerson of course had to go as soon as we got there and Grandma took her.  Later, we were walking along the river and she said "If somebody has to poopy out here what do they do?"  I caught on really quickly that she meant what should she do!  Not too long after, Braelyn said she needed to go potty so I started walking back in to the trees with her.  She said:  "Mommy, are we lost?!"  I assured her that we were not lost and she said "We are going to potty right here?!".  Welcome to nature city girls!  It was absolutely beautiful there and in the mid 70s...a perfect day!

They sure don't get these kinds of experiences in Houston!

The girls insisted on going to the top of the waterfall!

What a view!

Braelyn and Uncle Jeremy

What goes up, must come down!  Getting down was a little more of a challenge!

Special memories with their Grandma and Papa!

Woohoo, that was fun!

Time for lunch!

Em worked very hard to find her perfect "sittin' rock" when we got to the camp site.

Who needs to roast marshmallows?!  They are great straight out of the bag!

I gave up trying to keep them out of the water so we had to strip them down and try to get them warm for the ride home!

What a fun day!
