Superstar Stallion

Each month Snyder focuses on one character trait that the kids learn about.  At the end of the month each teacher gets to nominate 2 students who best exhibited that character trait during the month.  We are so very proud of Emerson for being chosen in January for the trait of trustworthiness.  This was not only a big deal to me and Shawn but a HUGE deal to Emerson!  She couldn't wait to tell us the day she found out:  "I'M A SUPERSTAR STALLION, I'M A SUPERSTAR STALLION!!!!".  The school hosts a celebration to announce the winners who receive a certificate, a medal, a cookie, and an extra recess.  I am not sure which of the items in that list Emerson was most excited about!  We are so proud of you sweet girl!

The parent letter that Em brought home

This is too cute...she wrote in writer's workshop about being a Superstar Stallion.  "I like it.  I am going on stage.  I will get a medal."

"I will be there.  My mom will be there.  My Daddy will be there."  You better believe it sweet girl!!

Braelyn was so proud of her big sister!

Daddy and his trustworthy princess

We went to Gino's East to celebrate with some pizza after.  The girls thought it was awesome that they could write on the walls!

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Today the girls and I were off for MLK Day.  Unfortunately, Daddy wasn't.  We are finally getting some beautiful weather after weeks of cold and rain so I had to find something to get the girls outside to enjoy it.  I knew it would probably be packed but decided to surprise them with a trip to the zoo.  We had the best time!  We saw lots and lots of animals, ate lunch, went to the petting zoo, and rode the carousel.  I am not sure which of the three of us was the most tired!

Date Night

It is a rare gift when you actually have babysitters contacting you to ask you to go on a date night because they want to see your kids.  That is just what happened to us the last couple of weekends.  One of our absolute favorite babysitters was home from college and texted me wanting to see the girls while she was home.  We lucked out and got her two weekends in a row before she had to go back.  The first date night we just went out to dinner at Outback but for our second, we got to go to our favorite concert-Micky and the Motorcars!  We started the night with dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and then had a blast at the concert.  THANK YOU ALIX!!!  We can always count on Alix to do fun things with the girls while we are out and are completely confident that they are safe and happy!  Added bonus:  she cleans up the house!  We came home to an emptied dishwasher reloaded with the dishes they had used!  Are you really sure you have to go back to College Station?!

We always have the best time together!

Twinkle, Twinkle

Today was Mother Goose Day at First Kids'.  It was so cute!  Each kid was supposed to dress up as something from a nursery rhyme and then they all come to the atrium  to recite each nursery rhyme.  All the kids dressed up for the nursery rhyme being recited go up together to say it with Ms. Dean.  For Braelyn, we chose Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and went all out with a star that actually twinkled.  She did great reciting it in front of everybody!

She was SO excited about getting to wear her costume!

Checking out her twinkling lights, making sure everything was in working order!

She was so cute saying every nursery rhyme and clapping for every group with the biggest smile on her face.

I could eat her up!!!!!
