Quarter Finals Here We Come!

Saturday the Bears took on Pearland Dawson and pulled out another win!  Apparently giving up the Thanksgiving break was definitley not for nothing!  It was a very close game at the end but we won 24-20!  We play next Saturday in the quarter finals at Rice.  State at Cowboy stadium keeps getting closer and closer!  GO BEARS!!!!!

I don't even have to tell her anymore-as soon as the band starts the school song, her #1 goes up!

Let's see...who was that that made that last play?

Celebrating the win on the field

 Congrats Daddy!

We are so proud of Daddy!

Feastin' to Tree Trimmin'

We were at home for Thanksgiving given that Shawn had to work ALL week(yes, that includes Thanksgiving day) so GranSan came down to celebrate with us.  We are definitely getting better with the Thanksgiving menu and fared much better on the leftover front!  Usually we cook enough for an army for just the three of us but this year we cut back-that does not mean we were not completely stuffed or that we didn't have plenty to eat later!  On Friday, out came the Christmas tree and we got to open presents with GranSan before she left-let's just say that Em definitely gets the concept of presents this year!  It was so much fun!

Cuddling with GranSan after a nap.

She painted her toenails for the first time and loved showing them off and saying how pretty they were!

 She loved the squash casserole!

 Helping put up the tree

What do you mean I can't open the presents yet?!  They have my name on them!

I never dreamed I could love Christmas any more than I already did-boy was I wrong!

Does that face say it all or what?  She loved her new baby from GranSan!

She even opened all our presents too!

GranSan, is this one mine too?!

Her first trike!  Thanks GranSan!

Holiday Fun

Today we met Ashley and Cannon at Potteryland Studio to make a Christmas keepsake.  It turned out to be a little bit more of an undertaking than we expected but still a lot of fun-probably moreso for me and Ashley than Cannon and Em but they were so patient with us!  We reallly wanted to bring our masterpieces home but it takes 5-7 days before they are totally done.  I can't wait to see the finished product!

Cannon, we're going to paint!  Are you excited or what?!

Em got her apron and was ready for action.

Cannon getting ready to make his footprint

Look at that cute little square foot!

Our reindeer is starting to take shape!  Em's part is complete, now time to test Mommy's painting skills!

I got way more detailed than I had planned but I think it is going to turn out cute after they fire it.

Em helping Cannon find his lost Cheerios

They are so cute together!  You would never know that they are about 10 months apart in age!

Road to State

The Bears won big in round 2 of the playoffs against Crosby...42-21!  We play Pearland Dawson next Saturday which will be a pretty tough game but WE BELIEVE!!!

It was a beautiful day but 75 degrees in November?!  I actually had to put sunscreen on Em!

Em cheering on the Bears with a total stranger-it is a shame she is so shy!

 Oh my goodness...I'm so nervous!

Congrats Daddy!  We're so proud of you!

#1 Coach/#1 Daddy!

Cutest Little Indian

Emerson's day care started their Thanksgiving celebrations yesterday.  She wore her new dress from GranSan and Aunt Janet to fit the theme!  They made what is called "stone soup" which from what I understand has a lesson behind it of doing good for others-don't worry not actual stones!  Everybody pitched in to bring different veggies for the soup.  Then they made Indian headbands-the headband is hilarious but it is so cute on her!  The band is so wide and the feathers are so small!

I was squatting to get a picture on her level-the only problem was every time I would squat, she would squat!

Is the dress cute or what?!

There really are feathers back there-look close!

 See...there they are!

Lots of Celebrating

We did a lot of celebrating around here this week...I'll let the pictures tell all about it!

Em is still celebrating Halloween-any holiday surrounding candy is one worth dragging out!

And I was worried she wouldn't wear it for trick-or-treating...she puts it on every chance she gets!

She finally got to celebrate with her friends at school about being a big sister-I think she's excited!

And finally, we remembered all the men and women who have fought for our freedom.

3 cheers for our veterans!

GranSan says: "Go Bears!!"

My mom came down this weekend to cheer on the bears for their last regular season game.  It wasn't the most ideal weather-probably in the mid 40s by the time it was over, but we won!!!  They had a great season so we are headed to the playoffs-yea!!!  We did a little shopping, of course, and just hung out.  GranSan was able to stay until we got home from the doctor today so that she could go home with pictures of both her grandbabies!

 Coach Brooks' cheering section!

Em had a pretty miserable game because she HATED having to wear a coat!

 It's Gametime!

Congrats on a great season Daddy!  Let's go all the way to State!

It is some of the best entertainment ever to watch these two playing together!

Em chasing Maggie and GranSan chasing Em

This kid can always make me laugh!

Checking out her treasures from the flower bed

Maggie trying to get Em's Kleenex from us-she tried to get it right off Em's face when I was blowing her nose!

Yet another way she and Maggie are alike-she has started taking the mulch out of the flower beds!

Big Girl

Emerson is such a big girl these days.  I think it has something to do with her upcoming new role as a big sister!  Ever since we told her that she was going to be a big sister she has gotten busy doing big girl things!  She decided to potty train, she cleans up her toys and takes them to her room when she is done, she loves helping around the house, and she is talking more and more every day!  We went to the doctor today and got to see the newest "Brooks Blessing" and are so excited-he said that everything looked perfect.  We are due June 19-hard to believe!  The baby's heartrate was 171 beats per minute and we could even see it just barely moving!  It definitely made it all seem more real!

She is going to be the best big sister ever!

Her "Wow, I'm a Big Sister" book from GranSan and Aunt Janet

Daddy's big helper

As soon as the door opened, she was on the mower in a split second!

Definitely Daddy's Girl!

In case you need help figuring things out like we did...the head is on the left!

We can't wait to meet you!
