Almost Annual Reunion

Last weekend I drove up to Dallas to meet Tonya and Alli for what we try to make an annual girls' weekend.  Thanks to the very busy schedules of 3 moms the last time we met up was not too long after Emerson was born.  We stayed at the Westin in The Galleria and it was awesome!  We didn't have to go anywhere if we didn't want to-eating, sleeping, and shopping under one roof...does it get any better than that?!  We got in lots of shopping, talking, eating and even caught a movie.

Football Banquet

Tonight was Daddy's football banquet.  We faired a little better this year since she wasn't sick-she probably had more fun than anybody there!  I took her little booster seat and she sat by her Daddy at the head table inhaling her barbecue like a big girl.  We moved a little further to the back when the actual program started and she loved the slide show but the rest lasted a little too long for a girl working on no nap!  We headed out the back before it was over but we are so proud of Daddy for the season his corners had!

Girls Trip

Daddy went to a coaching school in Waco last Thursday through Saturday so Em and I decided to take a road trip too!  She and I headed to Shreveport to see GranSan for the weekend.  We had a great time jsut hanging out and then had a girls shopping day on Saturday with Aunt Janet.  We had a blast but it would have been a little better had it not rained ALL day!  I got to go to dinner with Robin while Em played with GranSan, Aunt Janet, and Patsy.  Emerson did not even want to come with me on Sunday until I asked her if she wanted to go see Daddy and then she dove for me to get in the car!

Oh my gosh that's a cow right by the car!!!

She wasn't scared at all to reach right over and pet Blaze

Is that face priceless or what?!

Have potty seat, will travel!  Thanks for the help Patsy, I think I can get it from here!

I think you are going to make it Elmo-your heart is beating strong!

Getting kisses from Missy and JJ after a long day of shopping in the rain

Playing beauty shop with Aunt Janet.  Looks like Aunt Janet may need to work on Em's hair instead!

So Glamorous

While over at the Dickson's house watching a little football, Emerson was having a blast playing dress up with all Kamryn's hairbows, jewelry, and shoes.  One outfit was absolutely hilarious...

Ever wonder what Em would look like with long hair?!

We could not stop laughing!

Winter Onederland

Saturday we entered a winter onederland for Cannon's first birthday!  It was incredible how everything was decorated and all the delicious food.  There were snowflakes hanging from the ceiling everywhere, a table of milk and cookies(all in the theme colors of red, blue, and white, mini grilled chesses, pigs in a blanket, and the signature drink of the night was "ballstar blizzards".  They call Cannon Cannonball therefore sometimes "ballstar"!  Em typically just calls him Ball!

He did not like his birthday hat or all the singing AT ALL but all was right with the world when the cake showed up!

Emerson and Briley trying out one of his presents before he even got to!

The snowflake headband was one of the party favors-so cute!

Santa Came to Town!

Emerson was so good this past year that Santa not only brought her the coolest present ever, he agreed to make a late delivery since we were in New Mexico for Christmas.  I think it was worth the wait from the look on Em's face.  Santa brought her new swing set on Friday and when we opened the door for her to go into the back yard she threw her arms up in the air yelling "yea!" and ran as fast as she could to start playing!  She is completely fearless on it which may make it a little stressful for Mom and Dad for a while but well worth it!

Happy 2011!!!

We had such a good week together just the 3 of us topping it all off ringing in the new year.  Emerson got to do fireworks for the first time and loved every minute of it.  She had sparklers and the little deals that you just throw on the ground and they pop.  For our big finale we had a couple that shot little colored balls pretty high in the air.  Note that none of them were the loud fireworks!  2010 was a great year for the Brooks and we are looking forward to making many, many wonderful new memories in 2011!

I had never seen a sparkler this big-they were great!

I finally let Em wear her part of our Mommy and me locket that Daddy got us last Valentine's Day and she was so proud of it!
