Who Loves Holiday Weekends?

WE DO!!  WE DO!!!  Three day weekends are the best!  Saturday morning Shawn headed down to play golf with David VERY early.  The girls and I got up pretty early ourselves and I spent the morning getting things ready for our upcoming garage sale while the girls relaxed and watched movies.  For lunch we went and picked up Chick-fil-a for a picnic in the backyard.  It was a little hotter than I thought it was but it still felt great to get out for a little bit!  Sunday morning we visited a new church down close to the new house, ate at one of our favorite breakfast restaurants(who ever said you can't eat breakfast at noon?!), and after the girls got a nap, we headed back to the new neighborhood for swimming.  Despite how warm it has been lately, it was so cold at the pool!  Oh well, we tried!  We stuck it out for about 45 minutes and then enjoyed a Subway picnic!  Today brought more garage sale prep and unfortunately not much else since it poured down rain all day long!  All the pics are from our Chick-fil-a picnic, I guess I was shivering too much to pull out the camera at the pool!

Trim

This week the walls were finished, complete with rounded corners and texturing.  The trim was started, interior doors hung, and the paint is hopefully going to start going on the walls on Tuesday.  I am not sure when the brick and stone is getting started but some of the brick was delivered this week!  Kemp told us that worst case scenario we will be in in 3 months, best case scenario a month and a half.  He said in the next couple of weeks he should be able to give us a date within 10 or 15 days of our move in date!  Fingers crossed for "best case scenario"!!!

5/23/14:  I love the way the windows turned out...and I LOVE seeing the stacks of brick in the backyard!!

Family Fun

We have talked every time that we go down to the Waterway that we need to plan ahead and order a Grimaldi's pizza to go and have a picnic down there.  We finally did it!

Watching the fountains and clapping to the music

Every time the fountains started, they both stopped whatever they were doing to watch.

Who needs playground equipment when you have a sister to run and play with?!

We Have Walls!!!!

I haven't done a house update in quite awhile because all of the work that has been going on wouldn't have been really noticeable in pictures.  They have been doing all of the TV, electrical, insulation, inspections, etc.  Last week though, they painted the trim outside and got the sheetrock all done!!!  We have been anxiously awaiting this point because now you can get a much better feel for what the house is actually going to be like inside.  WE LOVE IT!!!!  They are going to texture the walls tomorrow and start on trim next week.  I am planning to go out this weekend with some samples of paint to just make sure I don't want to change colors because apparently they are going to be painting by the end of next week.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great.  I came back from a recharge weekend with Shawn to two beautiful, sweet girls who couldn't wait to show me what they had made for me.  Emerson was so excited about what she had made for me at school that she gave it to me on Wednesday when she got home and we left school so fast that day that Braelyn had to wait until we got back to school on Monday to give me hers.  It was great getting to give my Mom a hug on Mother's Day too!  For lunch, Shawn cooked my favorite hamburgers!  We are so blessed to have such amazing Moms in our lives that have taught me so much about how to be a Mom myself.  It is so true that you appreciate and understand their sacrifices so much more when you have little ones of your own...it is the hardest job in the world but also the one that brings you the most joy!

My sweet Emerson so excited to give me her gift.

Em told me that I needed to wear the bracelet she made every day to work so that I can look at it and remember how much she loves me!  Little does she know I don't need a bracelet to make me think of her all day long but I absolutely love it!

They decorated flower pots and planted flowers for me...PRECIOUS!!!

BLESSED!!

The Girls' Staycation!

Mommy and Daddy's staycation turned into a vacation for the girls too!  They had so much fun with Gransan and Patsy.

The girls couldn't wait to give Gransan her Mother's Day gift so they went ahead and gave it to her as soon as she got to town!

I love these two so much and they will hopefully have a fully recharged Mommy in a few days!

I had to get some snuggling in with my B before Daddy got home from work!

You will start to notice that the headbands have become her new favorite fashion statement!

The goggles are another favorite accessory!

Sweet smile!
