Christmas Countdown

Well, I have become quite the Pinterest addict and recently found an advent calendar Christmas tree that I just had to make!  I think it is likely to become one of my favorite traditions for years to come!  It is really important to us that the girls never forget the true meaning of Christmas.  Many of the bags will focus on that message and there are plenty that are just for fun.  Have I mentioned that I LOVE this time of year????  Get ready for a lot of posts about each day of the countdown!

So Very Thankful

So often I just sit back in total amazement at how blessed we are.  Shawn and I have an amazing relationship, we have 2 beautiful, healthy girls that bring us an unbelievable amount of joy, we have an extended family that we love so very much, good jobs, and the list could go on and on.  We try to take time to stop and be thankful for all these things during the busyness of every day life but it is pretty nice to have some time dedicated to being thankful!  We headed to Shreveport to celebrate this Thanksgiving on the farm and had a great time relaxing and just being with people we love!

The girls couldn't wait to play with Lady!

The girls not only got to ride in the tractor with Jerry, they got to drive it!  They loved every second of it!

I am not sure that Lady was too happy about sharing Gransan!

Time for a trip to the school playground.

Daddy's Girls

The Wishbone-who will win?

The girls couldn't wait to hang out with Nate!

Having fun climbing Janet's magnolia tree.  Emerson got so high!

Braelyn and Gransan

Janet was a little worried about the tree climbers!

Of course Janet had holiday fun planned-timed to make Oreo turkeys!

B decided she would just eat frosting instead of using it for her turkeys.

Time to Decorate!

Normally I don't pull out any Christmas decorations til after Thanksgiving but I decided since we were going to be out of town for Thanksgiving, I would rather get it down before we left.  I definitely had NO arguments from my little helpers!

Tradition of the Plate 2015

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is heading to Potteryland Studios to make our Christmas plate.  This year we invited Beth, Cooper, and Peyton to join us.  We met for lunch at Fudrucker's and then headed on over to get to painting!  We had a great time!  Beth and I made plates while the kids each picked something different.  Em did an ornament, B and Peyton did Christmas trees, and Coop did a Saint's football helmet.

I love these girls!!!

So happy that B actually has a smile when we do this now!

So much fun having good friends to join our tradition!

These 4 always have so much fun together!

One of my favorites!

Peanuts

Daddy had a great idea for surprising the girls today.  We packed up and went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings and then it was on to the drive-in to watch the new Peanuts movie!  We had so much fun!  We backed the mini-van up, popped open the back, and piled in with blankets and popcorn.  It was freezing out but we were pretty good all bundled up together and the movie was so cute!

Visit With Aunt Sissy and Uncle Russ

It has been a busy, fun week around our house!  Uncle Jeremy headed home on Monday, Gransan came on Tuesday afternoon and stayed until Thursday, and then Uncle Russ and Aunt Sissy got here on Friday!  We were so happy they got to come in town.  The girls were a little disappointed that "Baby Cousin" still isn't here though...it is so hard to wait!!

The girls had fun dressing Aunt Sissy up!

1st Grade Feast

I always love times that I get to spend with the girls at their schools.  Today was Emerson's Thanksgiving feast and feast they did!  They had so much food!
