Forms Are In Place

As promised by our construction manager, the forms were built today.  Now they will have to do the form survey and trench for the utilities, then it will finally be time for the slab!!!  We can't wait!!!  It is funny to look at the forms because I realize how terrible I am at judging size.  There were certain parts that looked really small to me but when you get out there and walk around you realize how big it actually is!

Angry Birds Weekend

It just so happened that we had invites to two birthday parties this weekend that were both an Angry Birds theme.  On Saturday, Emerson was invited to Caleb's 5th birthday, one of her friends from school and on Sunday we were all invited to help J.T. and Kristy's little boy Brock celebrate his 4th.  Emerson had a blast at Caleb's-she claims he and Natasha are her best friends at school so she has been really looking forward to his party!  Both girls had fun at Brock's, B was thrilled to get to go to this one!

Em and Natasha seeing if Em knocked over any of the blocks with the pigs.

Emerson picked out a girl superhero tattoo for Ms. Suzanne to put on her.

Party games at Brock's party!

Braelyn chowing down on the yummy pizza Ms. Kristy made!

It took them both awhile to get brave enough to go in the bounce house with the big kids but by the end of the party, neither of them wanted to get out!

The Pad is Set

Great news from our construction manager...the pad is set!!  It passed the compaction test and actually turned out cheaper than anticipated-I think that is a first for this project!  He also said that the forms will be put up on Tuesday, then comes the slab and framing should start the first of February!

And On That Farm...

there was an Emerson and a Braelyn, EIEIO!  The 4 of us loaded up for a weekend in Shreveport.  On Thursday, before we were planning to leave on Friday, I had a crazy thought that the girls would probably love a week at Gransan's, not just a weekend.  Shawn and I were going to have a pretty crazy week at home with work and house planning so we agreed that the girls would have much more fun there than with us.  Gransan loved the idea too!  We had a great time getting to hang out with everybody on Saturday and then headed back to Houston on Sunday around noon.  We took full advantage of being home by ourselves and turned every night into a date night!  It was much needed!  The girls had fun just hanging out on the farm-riding 4wheelers, feeding horses and donkeys, flying kites and just getting good and dirty!  Given my new large territory, I was able to work Lufkin and Nacagdoches today so that I could meet Mom for lunch to pick up the girls.  It worked out perfect!!

The girls were both ready to hit the road as soon as I picked them up from school!

They were good to wait for Daddy to get home to go with us though!

Nothing like ice cream and chocolate chip cookies for a late night snack with Gransan when we got into town!

Jerry, Janet, Jon, and Nate all came down on Saturday to help Gransan plant her new trees.

Braelyn doing her part to help Gransan.

Emerson loved getting to feed Blaze carrots, Braelyn wasn't quite as happy about the idea!

Sitting on the 4-wheeler with Gransan seemed like a much safer option!

We took a 4-wheeler ride down to play with Jerry and Janet

The girls got to see Janet's birds

Janet, Bailey, Em, and B

Two of my favorite people!

The girls, particularly Braelyn, sat mesmerized watching Jon's video of Bailey playing the wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast.

Braelyn was obviously happy to be at Gransan's!

Daddy and his girls

I had to get plenty of sugar before Daddy and I hit the road!

The girls apparently wasted no time after we left getting down to playing!

Gransan pulled out my old Care Bears for the girls

Nothing like a good cup of hot chocolate and a movie while sister is taking a nap!

Trying to patiently wait for Braelyn to get up from her nap for kite flying!

They look so cute in their new robes from Jaf, Shell, and the girls!

Braelyn finally got brave enough to feed Blaze a carrot on her last day on the farm!

I think a few nights turned into slumber parties in Gransan's bed!

Is that you Braelyn?!

Patsy and her little buddy!

One day they went up to Jaf and Shells to jump on the trampoline-the girls LOVE trampolines!

When Gransan sent me this picture, I told her that it looked like the clown car at the circus!  I think Em has just about outgrown one of her favorite toys!

I was SOOO happy to see these two and get hugs and kisses!  I missed them but I am so glad they had so much fun and that I got some time with Daddy!  Thank you SO much Gransan and Patsy!!!
