EGGstravaganza!!!

I decided that Emerson was old enough this year for us to try dying Easter eggs.  She loves any kind of activity like this.  She actually did great...we only had 2 broken ones and one of those was thanks to me!  I had to be quick because she kept trying to put another egg in cups that already had one!  After we got them dyed, she was very particular about what sticker was going on which color of egg.

Coloring on the eggs with the "magic" crayon before we used the dye.  This part was short-lived when she couldn't see what she was coloring!

Let's do pink!

I do it!

Let's see...which sticker would look best on this one?

She was determined to get the stickers put on the eggs whether the eggs were dry or not!

Examining her finished product.

Looking pretty pleased!

9

Braelyn Faith is now 9 months old!!!!!  She is SO funny...her little personality is just growing every day.  She has definitely perfected her crawling and does it at lightening speed with a form we call "highstepping".  She picks up her knees and her hands so high-it is hilarious!  When she gets to the tile, her knees are taken out of the equation and she is on all fours with her little booty up in the air!  I wouldn't want to crawl on my knees on the tile either!  She pulls up on everything now, but her getting down could use a little practice.  I am assuming that is how we have already had a black eye, a bruise on the bridge of her nose, and a bloody tongue.  I knew the tongue was a matter of time given that it is always out and her 4 little teeth are like razor blades!  Her favorite places to be are outside and in Emerson's room.  She loves checking out all her big sister's toys, and most days Emerson is more than happy to share!  She has finally mastered eating some of the little Gerber snacks that she picks up and eats by herself.  For the longest time she just threw them all on the floor, now they make it in her mouth(most of the time!).  FINALLY she started waving and it is sooo cute.  It is not just her hand but a full arm wave.  We haven't quite figured out how to get through to her about the things she is  not allowed to touch.  When we get on to her she gets a huge grin on her face and moves as fast as she can to the next thing that she is not supposed to touch!  She is extremely ticklish and she loves playing chase with Emerson.  At her well baby check she was 28 inches(70%), 18 pounds 10 ounces(50%), and her head was 43 centimeters(25%).  They did a blood test and determined she is not anemic.  Unfortunately her ears had still not cleared up from the infections when Grandma was here so we had to start another round of a stronger antibiotic.  We are going to check her again in 10 days to see if we have to go see the ENT.  Otherwise he said that she was doing great!

She can make me smile doing absolutely nothing at all!

If you look close, you can see the tooth on top.  She has gotten the one beside it and there is quite a gap between them!  So cute!

If you ever can't find her, look for Emerson!

Evidence that we still haven't learned what is Mommy's and what is Braelyn's!  The bird cage has already been knocked off chipping the paint on the wall behind it!

Mommy, you were right!  These yogurt melts are much better in my mouth than on the floor!

Look close again for the teeth!

Where does this one go?

Huge Helping Hand from Grandma

I had to go to Phoenix for work for a week and given how long the days would be at day care if Shawn took the girls and picked them up, we called in reinforcements!  It is hard work just keeping up with the two of them on a normal day but we decided to make it exceptionally hard by Braelyn ending up with double ear infections the day after I left!  Poor Grandma had to navigate both of them at the pediatrician's office, not to mention having to figure out how to find it!  Let's just say the Dr.'s office is not Braelyn's favorite place when it comes to looking in her ears!  Even with all of that, it seems like they had a great week!  Sadly, we don't have any pictures of Grandma WITH the girls just the pics Grandma took OF the girls!  They still managed to find time to shop so there had to be pictures of the fashion show!

I LOVE this one!  Daddy's girls!

Big smile!

Grandma said that Emerson HAD to have the jellies at Old Navy to go with her new clothes!  The pose is too much!

Looks to be REALLY upset that Mommy is not there!

I can't wait to see them in these dresses at Aunt Sissy's wedding!!!

This one twirled her way around the living room many times and then was not a happy camper about having to take off the dress!

I am going to have to walk down an aisle in front of total strangers?!  You MUST be crazy!

Emerson's Day

Now having Braelyn, Emerson has definitely had an adjustment sharing Mommy and Daddy's attention.  She has handled it so well but sometimes it is just time to get some one on one time.  The morning she was getting her three year pics was the perfect opportunity.  We met Jen for pictures which was actually a lot of fun.  A lot of the time was spent taking pictures with some amazing cupcakes from Double P Bakery.  Jen has been looking to get her work in some different businesses as advertisement and it just so happened Double P thought that was a great idea!  So after we had gotten a bunch of cute ones for that project, Emerson got to devour the one that she had wanted from the start before we started the rest of the pictures.  I will definitely post all those pics later.  After pictures we headed to the mall for a ride on the carousel.  She had talked all morning about riding the giraffe.  The giraffe does not go up and down so we had to ride again and try the "mommy horse" that went up and down.  While she wanted to do it after watching the other kids, she was still a little unsure when the ride started. After a couple of times around she loved it!  For whatever reason, she has been completely opposed to haircuts for quite some time now.  She has really needed a shape up so I thought I would give it a try.  I told her we were going to go to this little place to let them "fix" her hair.  Without missing a beat she said "Mommy, I want my hair cut!".  Perfect!  There is the cutest little place called Snip-its right by the carousel that is just for kids.  It is decorated so cute and each station has a kids size salon chair, a TV for cartoons, and various jars of treats(animal crackers, suckers, etc.).  She loved it!  After her hair was cut, the stylist put a bow and spayed it with glitter spray.  I couldn't even hardly get a picture of her because she was so busy looking in the mirror!

Holding on for dear life!

I love just watching her.

The smile was a bit of a stretch when I moved away from her!

Comletely focused on the cartoons

Such a big girl!

How cute is this place?!

So proud of her new look...especially her "sprinkles"(glitter spray!)!
