Birthday Fun

Well, I know you guys have wondered what had happened-Emerson turned one and there was no post until now! Well, I guess I have made up for running behind by posting the longest post in the history of this blog! I couldn't narrow down which pictures to post! We had so much fun the week of her birthday. On Wednesday, she took cupcakes to school and kicked off the birthday celebration there. I went to pick her up early and we headed to the airport to pick up Grandma and Papa. We played hard and Emerson really had something going with Papa-as long as she had him she didn't care who else was around! On Saturday, Uncle Jerry, Aunt Janet and GranSan came down to keep the celebration going. She got so many new toys, clothes, and books that I am going to have to add to my new toy organization system! This Monday we went in for her well baby check up(which unfortunately developed into a non-well baby visit!) and of course they said that she is perfect! Her growth has definitely slowed from previous check ups. She was 23 pounds, 12 oz(85%) and 30 inches long(85%) and has hit all developmental milestones for her age. The non-well baby part came into play when he looked in her ears-yet again double ear infections so we have an appointment with an ENT next Thursday to get on the schedule for tubes.

These are the cupcakes from her school party-I sent a disposable camera with her so hopefully I can post some pics from that little party before long.

This was on her birthday with the new bean bag chair from Grandma and Papa.

Her screaming contest with Papa!

Her hair is getting so long that I have to wet it down to get it smoothed down-we were getting all prettied up for her Ladybug party!

Hey everybody-GranSan brought me a balloon!

Uncle Jerry, do you want to play with my balloon?

She loves playing outside now.

Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Kristi, Tanner, and Keaton got her a cute book with a pig that she loved...I can't wait to try her Adidas jogging suit on her-it is too cute!

Whoa! A present that is bigger than me!

I could use a little help GranSan...there are so many presents!

She definitely got the hang of opening!

Aunt Sissy got her a xylaphone and she loves it!

How appropriate...Grandma got her a vacuum of her own(I just wish it actually worked!).

All that vacuuming made me very thirsty! Grandma has taught her to recognize a Sonic cup and she says "ice"!

Finally a picture you can see her teeth in!

Her cakes were not at all what I ordered but they were pretty doggone cute!

Papa and Daddy were all ready to capture every moment of her getting her cake!

Happy Birthday to Emerson, happy birthday to you!

Is that for me?!

You try it first Mom and make sure it is ok.

This is GREAT!!!

She wasn't too sure about it at first.

Definitely getting the hang of it now!

The final product! We went straight to the bath!

The cake provided the fuel needed for playing with all those new toys!

We love you sweet Emerson and can't wait to celebrate many, many more birthdays with you!

Funny Kid

Just a few funny pics from the past week!

She took the hat off her Chunky Monkey and was playing dress up with it!

Who knew the toy bin would become one of her favorite new toys?!

We're in BIG Trouble!

Emerson has always been a handful but the better she gets at this walking thing, the more she is into!

Hey-where did you put all my toys, Mom?!

So much for my efforts at toy organization!

We now have to check the oven drawer before turning it on-that is where we found the lost bottle of Little Noses saline drops!

Bonnie had warned me that Shawn was a climber!

I guess it is a little disturbing that I was more concerned about getting a picture of this than getting her down!

The sweetest thing that has ever been on that cookie sheet!

What Could Be Better Than a Bath?

A BUBBLE BATH!!!!!!!!! Our little sweetheart has always loved bath time but when I threw bubbles into the mix this week it was even better! She doesn't quite know what to think about it-tonight she even tried eating the bubbles. That is bound to be a great combo with the high power antibiotics for her ear infections in her little belly!
