House Sorting Day!!

Emerson has waited for the day ever since her field trip to Clark last year.  All students and staff at Clark are sorted into "houses", which I am told makes more sense if you are into Harry Potter.  There are 4 houses: black(Altruismo), green(Isibindi), red(Amistad), and blue(Reveur).  The sorting is totally random.  Each student goes to the stage, a balloon is popped over their head, and their house is revealed by the scroll that falls out of the balloon.  Once your house has been assigned, you are a part of that house for your 2 years at Clark.  You earn points for your house by showing kindness to others, following school rules, winning contests, etc.  At the end of the year, their is a party to celebrate the house with the most points.  Every Wednesday, every one on campus wears the color of their house.  It is a huge deal and House Sorting Day was definitely a big deal with a huge celebration!

Which house will I get?!?!

The Grand Oaks drumline got everybody pumped up!

Once they know their color, they go back to the tables, pick up their shirt and get a cookie.

Clearly Mrs. Ardoin is in the blue house!

It's almost her turn!!!

The superintendent popped Em's balloon.

What color, what color????

I was dying wanting to know what she got, but she looked excited!!

EEK!!!  She and Sofia BOTH got Black House!!!

They say you don't choose your house, your house chooses you...it couldn't have been more perfect.  Members of the Black House are "givers".  That is definitely our sweet Em!

Em took her camera to capture memories but her classmates about made her crazy all wanting pics to take home-she ran through all her film living up to her house color description-GIVING!
