Days 11-15

Day 11:  After a few fun days of getting things for ourselves, it was time to turn our focus back onto others.  The girls got a clue this morning with a picture of a cross and a picture of a present.  After school, I asked them if they had any ideas about what the clue meant.  I explained that it was time to think about showing others God's love and that we were going to go through our toys and pick some to donate to kids who don't have any.  Emerson said:  "But Mom, what if they don't know about Jesus?  Maybe we should give them Bibles so that they can learn about Jesus and His love."  I am so proud of her!  Sweet Miss B didn't miss a beat heading to her room to start a pile of toys(she had no problem choosing some of Emerson's to put in the pile too!).  I was so impressed by some of the toys she put in the pile-ones she plays with pretty often!
Day 12:  The clue for this morning was marshmallows.  I almost think they would have been fine if it wasn't a clue and that they just got to eat marshmallows but nonetheless we made hot chocolate and watched The Grinch that night!
Day 13:  Read about the true meaning of Christmas.  I found a new Berenstain Bears book The Very First Christmas to read before bed.
Day 14:  They got suckers that look like Olaf's nose when they put it in their mouth.
Day 15:  The clue was a picture of a clock that was on 4:00 and a Christmas tree.  My plan was to have the Little Debbie Christmas Tree cakes for their after school snack but every store was wiped out!  We had to go with Christmas Tree sugar cookies!
