Daddy is...

Each week for Emerson's homework, she has to come up with 5 words for each of her phonics rules that they are working on for the week.  On this particular week they were working on the short a sound and one sound that she had to list words for was -an.  I usually make her come up with the words but I will come up with clues to help her.  I said:  "Daddy is a...", looking for "man".  Without missing a beat she shouted "HERO!".  So precious!  When I said "Yes, but not quite what I was looking for, she then said:  "PERFECT!".  Yet again missing the mark of our phonics rule but I could not be happier that she has a Daddy worthy of such descriptions!
