The first day of school, a project was sent home!!! Wow, between projects and homework 1st grade might be an adventure!!! At least for this project, we had a week to get it done. Emerson was supposed to decorate the cover of her poetry notebook. Of course, she insisted that it be very "sparkly" and she wanted heart and flower stickers too. She was excited about the gymnastics stickers that I found too! First project was a success!

1st Day of School 2015
The summer flew by and it is time for another first day of school! This first day of school is dramatically different from last year. We are nice and settled in our house. There is not a living room piled high with boxes! It was easy to find everything needed to kick off the year with a great start! Sweet Emerson is in 1st grade and is so excited to be in Mrs. Coogler's class. Braelyn is starting preschool with Ms. Kathy and Ms. Loretta and is beyond excited too! Can't wait to see how much our sweet princesses learn this year and to watch all the fun things they are going to get to do!

Sister Sleepover
The girls have been wanting to have a "sleepover" for a very long time and I finally agreed last night. We set up a tent on the floor in Braelyn's room and they were so excited. Well, the sleepover did not last long. We heard them up no time after we put them in the tent. Emerson said that Braelyn would not let her go to sleep and that she wanted to go to her own bed. After some negotiating, she agreed to give it one more try. This lasted about an hour and a half and they both actually went to sleep. Emerson came stumbling in to our room at that point though and wanted to go to her own bed. I went ahead and moved Braelyn to her bed even though she was still crashed out because I had a feeling if she woke up and realized Em wasn't there it would not be good. The funny thing is, Emerson came in this morning asking why she was in her bed and not in B's room...she did not even remember coming in our room last night!
HEB Rocks!
As of late, HEB has just about beat out Target as our number 1 shopping spot. Earlier this week when we were checking out, the cashier asked us if we would be coming for Kids Day. She immediately had the girls' attention and from that point, any time we passed HEB this week, they asked if it was time for Kids Day. We had to check it out! They had so much fun going around to all the booths. After checking out all the inside activities, we headed outside to get on the fire truck, take their picture in the Wells Fargo carriage and visit the petting zoo.
I was a little surprised by her choice of a basketball, not at all surprised it was pink! |

Now we're talking...COOKIES!!!! |
Very proud of her princess wand. |

They were a little less impressed with the fire truck than I thought they would be! |
"Aww, so cute!" |
Despite the thunder from the storm moving in, Braelyn did not want to leave the petting zoo! |
Braelyn insisted that we go back inside to find Buddy but when we got there she would not join Em for a pic! |

1st Grade Here We Come!!!!
Emerson has been so excited about school starting back up. We found out on Tuesday afternoon that her teacher is going to be Mrs. Coogler and Emerson anxiously awaited Meet the Teacher tonight. She asked over and over when it was time to go meet Mrs. Coogler. The time finally arrived and as soon as we walked in the class, Mrs. Coogler came up and asked "Are you Emerson?" Em couldn't believe she already knew her name! She then saw that 2 of her friends from Ms. Krakow's class are going to be sitting at her table. Mrs. Coogler had bags waiting at their desks with ingredients for S'Mores because she can't wait to learn "S'More" about each of them. She got bonus points in little sister's eyes when she got her own bag of S'Mores! We are very ready for another great year at Snyder watching our sweet Emerson grow, succeed, and have fun!
Emerson was so excited to see Mrs. Ardoin, the principal. |

Little Gymnasts
The girls have been asking for months to take gymnastics. When they first started asking, they were still in swimming and I just couldn't add another night of extracurricular! Then when we stopped swimming, it was summer so I told them that when school started back, we would start gymnastics. Well, it started tonight and they LOVED it! Emerson has told me since the day we signed up that she was not going to be in the baby class! She was less than thrilled on the first night because when the class started, they grouped all the classes in her particular gym together for warm-up. This meant that she was in with Braelyn and in her mind she was way too old for that. When they separated classes, she finally started having a great time! Both of them did an awesome job listening to their teachers and seemed to be picking up on everything really quickly. It is going to be so much fun to watch them improve!
Em patiently waiting to find out what class she is in. |
