Happy Birthday Grase!

Yesterday was a big day...Emerson's American Girl doll had a birthday!  I had a pretty crazy day at work so today I surprised the girls when we got home from school with a birthday party for Grase(no that is not a typo...that is how Em insisted on spelling it!).  It was so fun!

Spring Break 2017

With my new job, I unfortunately couldn't take the week off for Spring Break like I usually try to do.  The girls however definitely needed a break from being around so many kids so we really didn't want to do the program at First Kids for the week either.  Gransan was thrilled by that thought process!  The girls packed their bags and headed to the farm for the week.  They about drove us crazy from the moment we told them asking if it was the day to go yet!  They had the best week, sleeping in Gransan's new camper(in the backyard!), playing with all the dogs, driving tractors and going to Party City with Patsy's great granddaughter Kendall!  They had a good week and Shawn and I had an awesome week of daily date nights!  Gransan brought the girls back Friday afternoon and we got to spend the weekend altogether. 

First order of business for both girls was to meet Mrs. Elaine's new dog Cu!

The new Casita was a BIG hit!  No trip necessary...backyard is a perfect adventure!

Winter Soccer 2017

We decided to let Em play the winter season of soccer.  She was super excited that she ended up on Team Houston this time!  Shawn and I had so much fun watching her this season.  About halfway through the season, it really seemed to click with her and she was a blast to watch!  We were so proud of how hard she played and how focused she was on the game from start to finish.

We had a couple of really cold early morning games.  She looked so cute in her sleeves!

Birthday Surprise

Shawn and I decided instead of getting Em another toy for her birthday, we would surprise her with something she has wanted to do.  She and I had a night out just the two of us.  We had dinner at Mi Rancho and then it was on to the surprise...a pottery class!  She has been wanting to try pottery on the wheel ever since she started doing this pottery app on my phone.  It is WAY harder than it looks but Em did great.  She did better than pretty much all the adults there! 

She was such a big girl wanting to do everything herself!
