Kindergarten Round Up

Today was Kindergarten Round Up at Snyder and I can hardly believe Braelyn and I were there!!!  For some reason Mommy is struggling way more with Miss B making this transition than I did with Emerson!  Braelyn on the other hand, could not be more excited!  She asked if she got to stay for kindergarten after I signed her up!  We have a little bit of a wait for that sweetheart!  Mrs. Nelson was so sweet and had a table set up for the kids to color and then she gave her her own pencil and notebook when we were done.  She also gave us a checklist of things Braelyn should work on over the summer to be ready for the start of school...she can already do everything on the list!!!

She was perfectly quiet and worked on her coloring while I did all the paperwork.

She was so excited about her new notebook and pencil!

Sniff, sniff my big girl with Mrs. Nelson, the registrar.

Life Lessons

The girls both had gift cards-Em from her birthday and Braelyn from Easter so we set out to spend them at Claire's today.  It was a very hard life lesson when we had to learn that gift cards were not unlimited.  I just followed behind the girls and they each had a shopping basket.  They were putting things in their baskets left and right.  By the time they got to the counter, Em had $75 worth and Braelyn was over $90...AT CLAIRE'S!!!!!  The people behind us in line hated us I am sure as we tried to pick which things were going to have to be put back.  We finally did it and hopefully a lesson was learned!

A girl can never have too many tiaras!
Love those new glasses!

Straight A's Lunch

Emerson has had an awesome first grade year.  When you get straight A's at Snyder you get a special pizza lunch and get goodies from the local State Farm agent.  For the 3rd nine weeks, she asked me to be there for her special day-well of course!!!!

Sofia, Em, and Jadah

The best friends being silly

Getting her key chain from Mr. Kyle-believe me this is a HUGE deal!!  We are still trying to get over losing one of our last ones!

Daddy and I are so proud of this big girl!

Happy Easter!!

I love seeing the girls all dressed up in their Easter dresses but what makes me even happier is that they know what Easter is all about.  Don't get me wrong, we have loads of fun hunting eggs but I love to hear Braelyn exclaiming "JESUS IS ALIVE!!"

I love their dresses this year!

They had so much fun digging in to their baskets to see what goodies they got.

The Easter bunny visited our house after church and lunch and needless to say we had 2 very eager egg hunters!

Look how many I got Mommy!!

I got the most!!!!

Time for candy sorting...

and candy eating!

Look at her cheeks!!  I don't know if she had a single piece of candy left by the time I looked at her!

Birdhouse Fun

When Gransan came for Spring Break she brought the girls birdhouses to build and decorate.  We ran out of time while she was in town so we finally got to it today.  They turned out so cute!

First Soccer Practice

Emerson has been begging for months to play soccer.  We finally agreed and today was her first practice.  She did great!  She was actually faster than the boys on the team!  She is over the moon about being a part of the team!

Is she cute or what in her socks and cleats?!

I am convinced the kid could run forever without getting tired!

Creekside Egg Hunt

Our church hosted an egg hunt and Easter extravaganza at the Cook's house.  It was great-snowcones, crafts, face painting, hair and nails, and of course an egg hunt.  The day was wrapped up with a telling of the Easter story using the resurrection eggs.

The age groups were separated-I followed Em with the big kids and Daddy stayed in the front yard for Miss B's hunt.

She was super excited about finding a golden egg!

B was getting a tattoo from Karis while Ms. Tamara braided Em's hair.
Time to listen to Ms. Kelly and Ms. Jen tell the Easter story.
The kids had finger puppets for different parts of the story-Em was a soldier and B was an angel.

Hopefully blue comes out of this beautiful blonde hair!

B loves Karis!
Of course Braelyn had to have color in her hair too!

Pretty in pink!
