Honor Roll

Emerson's first report card of the year came home on Friday.  Now in first grade, she actually gets "real" grades.  SHE MADE ALL As!!!!!  We are so proud of you Emerson Leigh and know this is just the beginning of the amazing things you are going to accomplish!  To celebrate, she got to choose where she wanted to have dessert Saturday night.  She picked dipped cones at DQ!

The first of many, many celebrations with our sweet Honor Roll member!

B was glad Sissy made Honor Roll too!

Inferences

In school, Emerson has been learning about making "inferences".  Yes, she is still in first grade.  I don't think I knew what that word meant til high school but whatever!  This is quite possibly our favorite paper that has come home from first grade.  The best part about it is Mrs. Coogler marked her answer right...

Sweet B

Braelyn keeps us laughing all the time with things she says and does.  She is such a little sweetheart too and the note I found in her folder from Ms. Kathy shows that she is a good friend too.  Here are a few examples of the smiles we get everyday.

We were in the bathroom at Buca di Beppo and I was helping B wash her hands.  When the soap came out of the dispenser:  "It's blue, just like I always dreamed it would be!"
The lady in the stall by the sink got so tickled and asked me to repeat what Braelyn said.  She thanked us that she got to hear that because it was beyond cute.  She told me to be sure to write it down.

She saw a picture of Lady, Gransan's new puppy on my phone:  "Awww,  she's so cute I can't even stand it!"

Ms. Kathy told me about an activity they were doing in class.  There was a sheet of paper with a picture of a sunken ship with a hole cut out for the window.  They took turns trying to get little cut out fish into the window while the other friends acted like a shark was coming.  Ms. Kathy said Braelyn started trying to get the fish through the hole and then just started waving her hands saying "I'm just so excited I can't even do it!!!"  Ms. Kathy said it was priceless because Braelyn's little imagination had her so immersed in what she was doing it was as if real sharks were going to get her little fish.  Poor kid is like her mother and freezes in a stressful situation!

Our sweet girly girl loves having her nails done and wearing pretty dresses and jewelry!

How can you keep from smiling?????

It's Boosterthon Time!

Snyder's big annual fundraiser is the Boosterthon Fun Run.  The kids love it because the week leading up to it is full of pep rallies, prizes for pledges, and contests between the classes.  They learn about the importance of fitness and teamwork.  This year they were raising money for an outdoor classroom and additional shade for the playground and just like last year, they exceeded their goal!  Em did great at the run despite, just like last year, it was VERY hot!

She looks ready!

1st graders wore "crazy hats".  Mrs. Coogler's class decorated them in class last Friday.

Always good to warm up and stretch before you workout!

Mrs. Ardoin getting everybody fired up!

Each class had a team name and Mrs. Coogler went all out with her flag!

And she's off!

I love this one!

Showing off her 37 laps!

Somebody looks hot and tired!

Mrs. Coogler's Cool Kids heading back to class to cool off!
Her class won one of the contests so they got a PJ day!

Emerson's 1st Bible Celebration

Our church does what are called "Family Faith Celebrations" for different milestones in life.  One of which is the "First Bible Celebration" when a child is 5 or 6 years old.  At first, I was a little stumped because Emerson has received several Bibles since she was born but the significance of this Bible is that it is given when the child is learning to read-the 1st Bible they will be reading on their own.  At the celebration, parents read a blessing to their child and then they are presented with a Bible.  One of the many things we love about Creekside is their commitment to partner with us as we work to raise children with a strong faith in Him.

Emerson,
We are so incredibly proud of the young girl you are becoming.  You have such a love for other people and you bring so much joy to everyone around you with your positive attitude and contagious smile.  Our biggest hope and prayer for you has always been that you would know and love God and follow Him throughout your life.  Today is a big step in that journey.  One of the best ways to get to know God and understand His plan for your life is to read from His Word-the Bible.  It is so exciting for you to be getting your first Bible at a time when you are working so hard on your reading.  There is no more important book that you will ever read and now you can start to read from His Word on your own.  This is so important because we want you to study and develop your own faith, not just a belief from what we have told you.  Psalm 119:18 says "May God open your eyes so you see wonderful things in His Word."  As you read, you will discover so many amazing things that God has promised to those who believe and you will also be able to find answers for anything you are facing.  We will always be here for you to talk about anything and to help you in your walk.  We are also so blessed to have so many people here at Creekside that are willing to work with us as we help you grow to know more about God.  We love you so much Emerson!
Love, Mom and Dad

A Fun First

One of Shawn's customers gave him 4 tickets to the Texans/Colts game.  We struggled for the longest time deciding what to do since it was on a school night.  We knew that there was probably no way the girls would make it through the whole game and even if we went and left early, they would be up way past their bedtime.  In the end, making the memories was way worth it so we put on our Texans gear and took the girls to their first game!!  We are so glad we did!  We all had so much fun!  The girls' faces were priceless-from the Metrorail ride to the stadium, to the pink foam fingers, to yelling as loud as you want, to eating popcorn and cotton candy for dinner, they had an awesome night!!  We made it to halftime but made memories to last a lifetime!

We had A LOT of walking to get to the stadium!  First the walk from the truck to the train...

We got a little break while riding the train(which everybody thought was super cool!),

and then it was another long walk from the train to the stadium!  Their little legs had to be tired!

GO TEXANS!!!!!!!

Awesome family memories being made!

Braelyn was not leaving without cotton candy!!

Mommy/Braelyn Night

Braelyn and I got a fun night together while Emerson and Daddy were at the daddy/daughter dance.  Her favorite thing to do is get her nails done so we headed to the mall for dinner and a cookie in the food court and some pampering at the nail salon.  What am I going to do next year when Daddy has two dates to the dance??!!

I am always amazed by how still she will sit!

Do you like the color?!

Daddy/Daughter Dance 2015

Emerson has been asking about another daddy/daughter dance since she came home from the last one!  I was so excited when the flyer came home in her folder because this is such an awesome event.  What precious memories both Daddy and Emerson are making on these kinds of nights!

We Love You Grandma and Papa!!

Grandma and Papa drove down for a visit and to help out with the girls while I spent a couple of days in Dallas at a meeting.  We had a great time and really appreciate all the help!

Showing off prizes from Incredible Pizza

Hilarious!

Em found bibs when we were in Hobby Lobby and asked if she and B could decorate them for their new baby cousin.

FINALLY!  I remembered to get updated pictures of the 4 of them!!!
