The Little Mermaid

Emerson got to have a special weekend all by herself at Gransan's house.  After her Christmas program, she rode back to Shreveport with Gransan and Patsy on Saturday.  On Sunday they got to go see The Little Mermaid musical.  Bailey played one of Ariel's sisters and from what I hear did an amazing job.  Emerson got special treatment...Dondi got her a wand and an Ariel doll and after the show she got to meet the cast!  She has not stopped talking about it all!  I met Janet and Gransan in Lufkin on Tuesday for lunch to pick up my sweet girl.  It was a great few days for all of us.  It has been a long time since Emerson has not had to share any of the attention with her sister and Shawn and I have never really had time with just Braelyn either.  It was great but we're happy to all be back together!

Early Presents

Gransan and Patsy came down for Emerson's Christmas program and could barely fit their suitcases in the Tahoe because of all the Christmas gifts they brought from Shreveport!  We decided to let Emerson and Braelyn have one present each and they were both a huge hit!

Emerson got a pink Radio Flyer scooter

She knew immediately how to do it!

She rode it all over the house and insisted that it go with her when she went back to Shreveport with Gransan!

Braelyn was a little unsure about her rocking horse at first but she LOVES it!

Thank you Gransan!

Giddy up horsey!

After the girls got their gifts we kept going!  We gave Patsy a Chef's Mat.

The girls of course had to help Gransan open her's!

The Academy Christmas Program

Emerson had her first ever Christmas program this year.  The Academy hosted their annual Christmas program at our church.  The 3s, 4s, and the private kindergarten participated and each class sang about 4 songs.  It was soooo cute!  Most of the songs you couldn't understand the words, plenty of kids cried, some lifted up their dress(we won't mention any names) and others jumped up and down.  Braelyn loved every second of it...she danced, said "ho, ho, ho" any time the kids did and waved back at her sister when she waved from the stage!

Needless to say she was very excited about her program!  They have been practicing their songs since September!

Braelyn and Gransan ready to cheer Emerson on!

Ms. Lana getting the program started

I don't know if you can see in the picture but she is rolling her tongue and note the hands on the dress, ready to lift multiple times during the performance!

Singing her little heart out next to her best friend Adelaide!

So adorable!  I will look forward to this every year!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Shawn didn't have the best birthday this year...he was stuck being on call for work!  I was able to meet him for a birthday lunch and the girls made sure he had some of the best birthday cards ever!

She drew a picture of herself, Daddy, and Braelyn on the back.

Her hair is HILARIOUS!  They did this to her at school.  One of the teachers said that if anybody could pull it off it would be Braelyn!

She worked so hard on her masterpiece for Daddy!

Do Over!

Gransan and Patsy felt so sorry for us about how our Thanksgiving went that they offered us a "do-over"!  We headed to Shreveport for the weekend and Patsy made a complete Thanksgiving feast for us complete with chicken and dressing and sweet potatoes with marshmallows!  It was AMAZING and well worth the wait!  Thank you both so much!  We had a great time!

Gransan always buys Cuties for the girls!

Out of all the amazing food, Emerson was most excited about the corn on the cob that Patsy had made especially for her!

Thank you Patsy for making up for the bowl of Cheerios Shawn ate on Thanksgiving day!

Braelyn's new favorite food...Nilla Wafers!

Family Night

Sunday night has kind of become our family night out.  This particular Sunday night we went to Waterway Square and let the girls run around.  They also had the fountains running shows to Christmas music.  After they ran off some energy we went to our new favorite restaurant Mi Cocina.

Of course our littlest dancing queen thought the Christas music was great dancing music!

Tough Day on the Job

Shawn's job has some pretty great perks that go along with it.  We got a great date night while he was actually working!  He was asked to take some customers to the Rockets game.  We got to valet park where the players park, had a private suite in the Lexus Lounge, topped off by front row(our feet were on the court) seats!

Christmas Fun With My Girls

This was year number three to make a Christmas plate.  I took each girl separately to work on it.  Braelyn and I went first.  She was not a big fan of the girl putting the paint on her foot but got over it very quickly!  Emerson and I went back the next day and after she put her footprint on the plate, she went to work on her coffe mug masterpiece!  When we got done painting, it was time for ice cream!!!

Is it time to paint yet?

I guess I'll just color and drink my Capri Sun because it is not looking like I am going to get to paint any time soon!

1.  Looking a little skeptical about the stranger with the sponge.

2.  I don't think I like this...AT ALL!

3.  I would really be fine if I could go back to coloring and my Capri Sun!!!

Slightly different reaction from her sister!

Hee hee!  That tickles!!

She picked out all the colors she wanted for her coffee mug.

She was so proud of the finished product!

This year Emerson's foot is Santa's sleigh and Braelyn's is Rudolph.

She would live on ice cream if I would let her!  Can you blame her?!
