A couple of weeks ago we went to cheer on the Montgomery Bears' baseball team as they were trying to get to the state tournament. Emerson had the time of her life playing with Kennedy, Jaxon, and Cooper during the game and on the way out to the car Shawn, Shawn, Beth, and I heard the most hilarious conversation, but I think it might have freaked my Shawn out with a glimpse into his future!Emerson: I want to hold your hand Cooper.
Cooper: Do you want to come to my house?
Emerson: Do you want to come to my house?
Cooper: Yeah! Can your Mom give me directions?
It made us feel a little better that she was only going to agree if it was at our house but that didn't cancel out that Cooper is a year older! We are SO not ready!! Ha ha

Beautiful Ballerina
Emerson has been taking ballet one day a week at school for the last several months and today was her recital. We could not wait to see her dance! We weren't sure exactly what she would do in front of all the people. I don't know why we would have even questioned our little outgoing princess! She did amazing! She did all the little dance steps perfectly and between dances she would come give either me or Shawn a hug, a kiss, or a high five! She has loved every second of her classes with Miss Natalie and it showed today! We were so very proud of our beautiful ballerina!
Ready for her big debut!
I am so truly blessed!
I love this one of the little ballerina so happy to be with her Daddy. She was so proud that she got to wear the locket her Daddy gave her.
We were so glad that Gransan and Patsy got to come down for the performance. Obviously the girls were happy!
Emerson and her little friend Sadie
Emerson and Sadie before they went in for a short refresher before the performance.
On her "dot" ready to start.
Really excited to get the show started!
She did SO good watching Miss Natalie and doing all the steps. She only got off a couple of times when she stopped to watch herself in the mirror or to look to make sure we were all watching!
Straddle!
Patiently waiting to show off her technique!
Perfect form!
This was so cute...they jumped over these little mirrors all the way across the floor.
It was her turn to go get her trophy!
After the trophy ceremony they got pink sprinkle cookies...does it get any better than that?!
Emerson and Miss Natalie Every ballerina needs flowers after their star performance...thank you Gransan!!!
When we got home she got to open her present from Mommy and Daddy for how awesome she did.
Angelina Ballerina movies and a Barbie ballerina!
Patsy treated the little star her adoring fans to Mexican food after the show!

Slip Slidin' Away
Shawn surprised Emerson by setting up the Slip 'N Slide in the back yard. She was in her room watching cartoons while he set it up. When he got it ready I called her in the living room just in time for her to see Daddy take a test run. She could not get her swimsuit on fast enough to go join him!
Daddy showing her how it's done!
Probably not enough momentum to get the full effect of "slide"!
Maggie loved it!
It is a side by side Slip 'N Slide so they took off to slide together.
There wasn't a lot of sliding on her own but she got going pretty fast with some help from Daddy!

Splashin' Good Time
Today we went out to the pool at the neighborhood where we bought our new land. It was Braelyn's first time to try out her cute little swimsuit and get in a pool. We weren't sure how she would like it...she loved it!!! I put her down at the edge of the splash pad and she started crawling as fast as she could further out into the water! She did great for awhile but then she started shivering! Our littlest angel HATES being cold! Emerson did awesome. By the time we left she was jumping off the side of the big pool even if Shawn wasn't there! I foresee many good times at this pool!
This new little swim trainer helped a lot! It helped keep her chest and face up out of the water. She was so excited!
It was definitely a mistake on my part to not wear a swimsuit...I was soaked before it was all over!
The splash pad is awesome!
Heading back to trade off with Daddy
Time for fun in the big pool with Daddy
She did great listening to Daddy on how to start swimming.
Braelyn, is that you under there?!
There you are!
Having a blast at the splash pad together!
Braelyn crawling 90 to nothing toward Daddy and Em.
She was not a big fan of her hat but I was so scared that little bald head was going to burn!
So cute!!!!!
Sticker Fun
Give Emerson a coloring book and she will sit for no less than an hour coloring. Add stickers and who knows how long she will sit there! I have to watch closely because she will stick stickers on anything, furniture included!

11
Braelyn is 11 months old now! How is it possible that it is already time to start planning her one year birthday bash?! We are having so much fun with her. She has the most hilarious little personality. She loves to kid around with everybody. More times than not she is perfectly content playing by herself, especially in Emerson's kitchen. She is into EVERYTHING! You can hardly turn your back for a second! She tries to get the nightlight in the hallway, she pulls the rocks out of the fireplace and is constantly trying to play with the entertainment center. She is starting to eat more regular table food but is still pretty opposed to a sippy cup! She is still not walking but starting to get a little more brave. She has taken one step but is not putting steps together yet other than pushing her toys. She will walk all over if she has a toy to hold onto. Despite getting the tubes she is still having some trouble and has had to be on antibiotics twice since thanks to bacterial sinus infections. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of that because the medicine makes her feel terrible and she is such a happier baby when she is not on them.

She claps for herself all the time and waits for you to say: "Yea Braelyn!"

I love that little smile!!!
![]() |
The gap in her teeth cracks us up!
We are so glad she has turned into a happy girl! It helps when you feel good!
She has some of the most hilarious expressions!
Very proud of eating big girl food!

Go Stros...or Rangers!
We took the girls to their first MLB game on today, and our first since having both girls! It was the Astros and the Rangers and we were very torn as to who we wanted to cheer for. We were always Rangers fans before we moved to Houston but have really tried to be hometown supporters since we got here! We caught ourselves cheering whenever each side did something good! Emerson yelled "Go Rangers and Astros" throughout the entire game! We had a great time. Sometime in the 6th inning Shawn told me he couldn't tell me one thing that had happened during the game. The girls were really good but constantly were needing something: potty break, diaper change, drinks, food, a walk, etc. Definitely not the same experience as when we used to go by ourselves but fun in a new way!

Top of the first inning she was already enjoying her ice cream in a pink helmet!
![]() |
Ready to go with Daddy on a walk around the ballpark!
![]() |
Look who they found on their walk!
Our family's first trip to Minute Maid!
It is hard to not cheer for Josh Hamilton, he is having an amazing year!
The stars at night, are big and bright (clap, clap, clap, clap) deep in the heart of Texas!
All that cheering can wear a girl out!
