Rock of Ages

Shawn and I were so ready for a grown-up weekend and it was so much fun having Jeremy and Kristi here to spend it with us.  Kristi and I got a day of shopping in when we got back from taking the girls to Lufkin before we met the guys for Mexican food on Lake Conroe.  Saturday was a pretty lazy day of college football and for Kristi and me pedicures.  Saturday evening we headed to the Yucatan Taco Stand on The Waterway and then on to the Rock of Ages concert....Poison and Def Leppard!!!  It was AWESOME!!!!  We decided part way through the concert that this needed to be an annual weekend for the four of us!

Dinner at the Yucatan Taco Stand

I insisted on lots of pictures together...funny how over the last 3 years we have very few pics of the 2 of us!

Jeremy and Kristi

Woohoo!!!

It has taken us about 12 years but we have finally perfected the art of taking a picture of ourselves!  I didn't cut off Shawn's head!

Uncle Jeremy & Aunt Kristi

Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Kristi flew down on Wednesday night and Emerson was so excited about getting to go to the airport to pick them up.  They were coming down for the weekend to go to the Def Leppard concert with Shawn and me but had to get here a couple days early to spend some time with their nieces!  The girls had soooo much fun with them all day Thursday while Momma and Daddy were at work.  On Friday, Aunt Kristi rode with me to meet Gransan and Aunt Janet in Lufkin so the girls could spend the weekend in Shreveport with them.

Emerson sharing a late night snack of Whataburger with Uncle Jeremy when they got home from the airport.

Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Kristi surprised the girls with the coolest new sprinkler.

Emerson made sure that everybody took part in the water fun!

Let's go Uncle Jeremy!!!

Pretty Princesses

Yesterday we were invited to the Schramm's to celebrate Kennedy's 6th birthday. The girls were supposed to dress like their favorite princess and then bring their swimsuit with them to play on the water slide. Emerson never hesitated, saying that she wanted to dress like "Punzel" from Tangled. We found her the perfect dress last weekend and of course she had to have the crown and shoes. Not just any shoes were going to do. The shoes that they had at the Disney Store to match the dress wouldn't fit so I looked around for something else that might work. They had a cute little pair of purple glitter mary jane style sneakers but before I could even pick them up Emerson said "those aren't heels" and carried on with her shopping! Oh my goodness...we are in so much trouble! I finally found some little purple dress up shoes at Wal-Mart that were perfect. When we got to Kennedy's house Cinderella herself was there reading a story to all the little princesses! Emerson wasn't quite sure about her at first, keeping a safe distance. Once, Cinderella turned on some music to dance to with the girls Emerson started to warm up to her and then when she pulled out make up and fairy dust to put on each of the girls, Emerson was finally won over! It took awhile to get her to agree to take off her princess dress to put on her swimsuit but when we finally did, she had a blast on the water slide with all the kids.

The prettiest Rapunzel I have ever seen!

I couldn't bring myself to buy another Rapuzel dress for this little one so we opted for a princess t-shirt!

Emerson and her Prince Charming

Em couldn't wait to show Kennedy her dress

Notice how far Emerson is from Cinderella!

So precious!

Time to dance!

She was eating up every second of being with the big girls!

Cinderella let her pick her eye shadow color and leave it to my sweet girl to pick color coordinating purple!

I could eat her up!

Cinderella finally won her over!

Enough with the prim and proper...it's time for cupcakes!

Kennedy was so sweet to Braelyn!

No Better Place...

At the end of a long, tiring day at school there is no better place than cuddled up next to your sister watching cartoons!

Baby Doll

Braelyn is not only Em's baby sister but her biggest baby doll!  Braelyn loves to climb into Emerson's doll cradle and will sit and just watch her big sister play.

Silly sisters!

Another First for B

Today was Braelyn's first time to get to participate in Water Day at school!  She was not supposed to move up to the toddler class until next week but when a new baby came in unexpectedly, it put the baby room over their limit so the director asked me if they could move her a week early.  She made the move just in time to catch the last Water Day of the summer!  The girls looked so cute together all ready for fun in the sun!

Big Sister to the Rescue!

Emerson is so good about helping me out with her sister.  As Braelyn gets older it seems to get harder and harder to get out the door...now we have added shoes to the mix.  We were running late the other morning and I asked Emerson to run in the living room to look for Braelyn's shoes while I was finishing getting ready.  When I walked out into the bedroom I discovered that she had not only found her shoes but was trying her hardest to get them on B!  Precious!

Family Fun Night

Sunday after Gransan went home the girls both took really good naps and then we decided we were due a Family Fun Night!  We loaded up the girls and headed to Incredible Pizza.  When we got out of the car Emerson said "This is the birthday place...are we going to say 'Happy Birthday' when we go in?!"  After getting good and full at the pizza buffet it was time for games!!!  They have a great area for the little ones so Braelyn and I headed in there while Emerson played some of the games for older kids.  In no time Emerson came in where we were and the girls had so much fun playing together.  This was Braelyn's first time to be big enough to actually play.  We tried to tell her all this time that walking is totally worth the effort!  After our game card ran out it was time for ice cream!!

Braelyn had no fear...we couldn't turn our backs for a second!

Wait for me Braelyn!

She thinks she is pretty big!

I tried and tried but never got a good picture of both of them on the teacups!

Emerson was so sweet to let her sister hop on all the rides with her...this one was by far Braelyn's favorite!
